oh, another thing.. lol make sure to have the towel handy just in case your bootie gets too hot and you have to slide it under your bootie lol
also, make sure you lift your arms up over your head so you don't get white pits lol

Hi! Have you ever tried airbrushing? I know it sounds odd, but it is a relatively new technique that from what I have seen produces great results! I was recently at a wedding upstate, and the bride went for one application ($30 cost up there), and that was all she needed. She looked fresh, and not orange or streaky, or burnt! So, it is something to think about and consider. It is also safer than a tanning bed. I know certain makeup artisits now have this available (just check to make sure they know what they are doing, and have a trial run!). Good luck, and be careful if you do decide to use tanning beds, especially if your skin does not tan easily.

LOL, I wish someone gave me advice like Marcella...I had white arm pits. I never put a towel under my butt...I kept my undies on. Once you have a burnt rear you'll never forget it.
Wear the goggles, but don't squint! You'll end up with lines!!
I always put my hair in a bun, so that I wouldn't have marks on my back.
Bring some sort of body spray or powder. Lying on the bed always seemed to make me sweaty and stinky

so i had a successful first tanning experience. im a TINY bit red, but not bad at all... now my next question, when should i go again???? i just want to see how many times it takes to get a good base, so ill be ready next year when i want to start tanning for the big day!

I think airbrushing is a great idea...check out theknot.com new york board...there are some girls on there who recently had it done...
i used to tan all the time and then one time i went right before a friends wedding where i was a bm and wanted a tan for my strapless dress and i baked...literally...i walked out and was fine and later that night i realized i had burned my back and my arms etc. it looked HORRIBLE
i am 100% italian with olive skin and never burn and this totally freaked me out...anyway...i will definitely give airbrushing a try...
i heard it lasts for two weeks and it looks totally natural...not like self tanner....
you can go a few times for a darker color if you want.

i went to hollywood tans once for the spray booth fake tan.
i came out okay. but i had spots in certain areas were my skin was dry. i would recommend airbrushing over the spray booths, if you are not comfortable with tanning beds.

Go to Perfect Color. They have 6 stores and one in Massapequa. I use to work in the one in west islip and the stores are really clean and just ask one of the girls in the store they will tell you what would be good for you to tan in the first time.
