Tanning Salons

Tanning Salons

Anyone plan on going tanning before the wedding?
I want to for the eparty b/c the dress I am wearing is a brown copper like and I am pale right now.

I am looking for reasonable places in Nassau preferably around East Meadow that are inexpensive. I won't go to Ultratan. What beds do you see the most results besides the Big Bear one?
Thanks!

Bump - I'd like to know this too, although I'd also appreciate places along the nassau/suffolk border. i.e. babylon area.

THANKS!

I'm thinking about it. I am so white it's gross. I'll blend right in with my dress and wind up looking like a marshmallow.

I've never been so I don't know how it works!

You are so funny mistyeyed! Don't go to ultratan - they are such a rip-off and they never change their bulbs. Try looking on the internet - Before the summer I usually start going. I like the stand up machines because it gives you an even tan and get an accelerator with a bronzer. Good luck.

I don't have any specifically wonderful place but I've gone when I need a little color for important events. I do think the stand up beds give a better tan and I don't suggest going everyday (I think if you get too dark you can start to look a little strange), so break it up a bit maybe once every two - three days.

I go tanning everyother week just to keep up my color, but when I got my e pix done I noticed that I did not look good next to my FH bc he looked very pasty next to me and I looked too dark. Be very careful how dark you get now I know for the wedding

I go to beach bum in plainview and they aren't too expensive and they have really cool beds that work good.

Re: Tanning Salons

hehe..

Okay.. it's an EFT membership.. in other words they take out 19.99 every month from your cc (editted to say cc or checking).. but the cool thing is that you have a min. of 3 months and if you decide you want to stop it, you can, just by calling them up and telling them to.

19.99 includes the following: you can tan and use ANY bed they have on the weekends (8 total tans a month! in other words 19.99 =8tans! so what you would normally pay for 1 tan you're getting 8) and if you decide you want to tan during the week, you can use their plans and ony pay between 5 and 7 bucks.. which I don't need to considering I'm tanning Sat and Sunday!

Hi Wanda.

I do not know about tanning as you know I really do not need one, but I had to say you have a nice complexion and you are very pretty.

Don't go overboard.

Thanks Keisha your a sweetie!!
My shoulders and back are very pale. My mom and sister have done a very good job in telling me so! Sooo I need to darken up a bit.
I went to Ultratan before about 2 years ago. And hated it.

Thanks Marcella!!

Wow I think that sounds good but I have no idea what other prices are, anyone have any to compare to? What about Tanfast in farmingdale on 109?

Paiz

There's a new Hollywood Tan location on Montauk Hwy in W. Babylon. I hear HT is boothes that mists on self-tanner.

I haven't tried HT. If anyone does try self-tanners, go with the 'lightest' tan first. A few years ago, I put self-tanner lotion on my face almost every other day in the summer. At first it looked natural, but I think I should have tappered off more.

Let me know what you decide.

I am thinking about trying tanning for my wedding (in Oct) but I'm very nervous. I'm Irish and extremely pale. I look terrible in white (who decided wedding gowns had to be white?). Do you girls think I would be OK tanning? I have tried self tanners, which work great, so that's an option too, but sometimes it doesn't come out completely even everywhere and I'd want it to be perfect on my wedding day. Anyone ever try Hollywood tans?

Re: Tanning Salons

I just started tanning for my friends wedding which is at the end of this month. I useto go to Electric Sun located in Wantagh on Wantagh ave. They have the cheapest prices i've seen around. It was a little too far for me, so now I go to European Image located in Roslyn Heights on Willis ave.
CW0904 - You should definately try Electric Sun. It is close to you and fairly cheap.

Re: Tanning Salons

I'm a regular tanner and I can tell you that the plan I found is by far the best I've seen out there.. some places try to sell you unlimited packages but it's to some weak a ss beds.. you want strong beds with face tanners.. and stand ups to even it out..

All I can suggest for those who've never tan or are fair skinned is to start out slow... and use a good bed the first couple of times... you need a base.. start off with a stand up or a good lay down bed..
