I tan at Perfect Color. They have about 6 stores now. I think the closest one would be in Lindenhurst or Farmingdale(I think). They are very clean and Have great machines. I know this because I use to work in the one in West Islip when I was in H.S. I know there really not near you but just wanted to let you know

Re: Tanning Salons
trish - while i agree with marcella (i love tanning 2) constantly in the sun - thank goodness my parents have a pool in their backyard - i may as well move my bed out there - you might wanna try the misting thing at hollywood tans - it's a mist as opposed to lamps - no burning factor at all! something to look into!!!!!!!

Re: Tanning Salons
Start and tan the first time for 8 minutes if you are fair. I am tanning starting next month for my May wedding

Re: Tanning Salons
I am a ghost & I have always done 8 minutes and gotten a bit rid but I was fine and it gave me a great starter base for the next visit.

I love beach bum tanning it is next to zacharys and they have all different packages, the more expensive bed the less red/ orange you get and more bronze!

Re: Tanning Salons
i go to hollywood tans. they are all over long island. i started tanning for my wedding in the beginning of june. once you achieve a good base, how often should you go? i don't want to be too dark.

Re: Tanning Salons
i started last year in april going once a week (every sunday) then i started going 2 times a week. I then went to the beach in June and had a killer tan. I also kept going tanning till about September.
Come April I am going to start tanning again.
I go to this place that is about 3 blocks from where I live and love it. I go in the lay down bed for 20 minutes and its so relaxing.

Re: Tanning Salons
I'm afraid to go unless I can convince FH to go too. I think it will take a lot of convincing. I don't want to look tan if he is still pasty white.
It is also a great idea to go tanning if you are going somewhere tropical for your HM. That way you wont burn to a crisp when you get there and you'll be able to enjoy yourself more.
