So in May I bought my tiara from Barron's at the recommendation of everyone on the site.... They wrapped it for me and put it in a box with tissue paper and knew I didn't need it til October wedding. I went for my fitting today and took the box out of the closet and opened it up and it had completely tarnished! It's all yellow and gross looking. I'm so mad.... It was $100.... Of course Tri County's not opened today so I don't know what they're going to say or do for me, but did this happen to anyone else? Is there anywya to fix it? I don't want to have to spend another $100 and I feel like they shoudl exchange it for me if there's a life span on them that they didn't tell me about??? i'm so bummed, i loved it :(

I would def go back there the next day they're open and see if they can replace it for you. I bought my tiara from there and didn't have any problems with tarnishing. I did have one small piece fall off when I went for my fitting, so I brought it back in and they fixed it right away.
Just be sure to bring your receipt with you. GL!!

Definitely take it back. My tiara was bought in January (elsewhere) and is still all perfect. My FG's was tarnished though...so we used a$3 one from Claire's from her birthday...it looked better anyway.

When you get a new tiara wrap it in tissue paper and put it in a ziplock bag. Make sure all the air is out of the bag. This will keep your tiara for tarnishing.

I'm not going to touch it with any tarnish remover until I bring it back to Barron's..... they didn't tell me that about the ziploc bag.... they gave it to me wrapped in tissue paper in a box. Man....

absolutely bring it back. if they cannot repair it then they need to replace it... free of charge. if they did not tell you what to do to prevent that then there is no reason why it should be tarnishing. especially at the price you paid: that is unacceptable. good luck!!!

I asked the bridal store that I bought my Tiara from and they told me. I also had many other people tell me the same thing about the ziploc bag.

Just keep it in a closed bag, like ziploc, for future. Sorry you didn't know it before.
