How long after you booked a RH did you schedule your tasting?
Not for nothing, I am looking forward to this so hardcore hahaha :P

Re: Tastings - Mmmm
we're going to have our tasting about 3 months pre-wedding (meaning next month, yay) ... that's the 'deal' at my hall ... other RHs let you schedule it whenever you want though

Re: Tastings - Mmmm
Our tasting was in March - so 3 months before the wedding. But it was over a year since we had booked the hall.

So I see the general trend... I wish they did tastings when you first book so you can get your deposit back if you don't like the food lol

Chateau La Mer did this with us. We paid a depoist that pended on the tasting. A lot of places do a tasting before you have to actually book.

The Harbor club is giving us our tasting next weekend...and we have just booked last week... IF we dont like it.... we get our deposit check back that they are just holding....and keeping out date with it!
I guess it depends on the place!
BUT THIS IS A FUN YUMMY PART! :)

That's what gets me nervous though, what if you don't have enough time to re book after the tasting (if you don't like it)
Sigh, I know everything will work out I'm just super nervous because we're going to book Saturday and I don't want to make the wrong choice

Re: Tastings - Mmmm
WM doesn't have an official tasting, instead we get to try the food at the showcases and get a $100 gift card at the rest there. I think I am gonna ask for a tasting of the special cocktail hour items we are having to honor FHs Trinidadian roots. Oh, and we had to have the chicken Tika Masala, we both love Indian and wanted it so bad!!!!!

it's simple...you tell them you will not book without a food tasting! most places were very willing to do this for us
you have to remember these people need us! the economy is rough, they will accommodate you to get your business...and if they don't then maybe you want to rethink using them for your wedding, ya know?
i would NOT book without a tasting, no no no!
but if food isn't that important to you, then do what's best for you!

We did a tasting BEFORE booking. That's what helped make our decision on The Riviera. We LOVED everything about the place and then the tasting just won us over! We went on a Sunday when they were having a wedding so we tasted exactly what they were serving the guests. and it was YUMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
