My little sister (who happens to be my MOH) decided to get a HUGE tattoo from her shoulder to her chest...does anyone have a suggestion of tattoo cover-up that actually works and will stay the whole day? Her dress is strapless...

Re: TATTOO COVER
make up artists do this... ask whoever is doing your make up if they can cover it up. Ask for pictures to show how WELL they cover it. .
seriously... she couldn't have waited 3 more weeks to get a tattoo? lol

I know you did not ask about this but why are you wanting her to cover it up? I am just curious. This conversation has been brought up on this website a few times.

Re: TATTOO COVER
It's really ugly! Its a GIANT TIGER and its not even in color! I like tattoos...I have one myself...but she knew she was wearing this dress and purposely got the tattoo (and her lip peirced) after I specifically asked her to wait a few more weeks, because she was mad at me. She is only 18 and I know she will regret these new additions...and I dont want them in the pictures so that for the rest of my life I can hear her complaining about it. If it was cute, I wouldn't mind...but it looks trashy.

Re: TATTOO COVER
If you're mostly concerned about the ictures, the photographer should be able to airbrush that out...

Re: TATTOO COVER
Keep in mind she may not WANT to cover it up. You can't exactly force her to do it.
One I recommend is called Kamoflage by Sacha Cosmetics. It's about $25, but it's worth it. I've used it before for my brother's wedding and it lasted all day and night. I will be using it again for my wedding. (Which reminds me, I gotta go buy some!)
I tried Dermablend, but it never matched my skin tone right and I had to apply an insane amount just to get it to cover completely.
The website is Sachacosmetics.com.

Re: TATTOO COVER
One of my bridesmaids has a huge tattoo from her shoulder to her elbow. i have on on my back as well. Although I am not ashamed of my tattoo (it's my daughte's name), I'd prefer for it to not be in my wedding photos. I am having her cover hers up and I am doing the same for mine. We are both having airbrush done, so my makeup artist will do the cover-up. Because I asked her to cover up her tattoo, I felt an obligation to take care of the bill. they do have kits that you can use on your own that will not be as costly as having a makeup artist do it.
Sure, that permanent logo on your back or ankle looks cool on the beach, but does it really fit your wedding-day look? Keep tattoos temporarily under cover with this teriffic easy-to-use kit. When applied correctly, results are flawless, undetectable, and water- and smudge-proof -- and ideal for making birthmarks, freckles, skin disorders, varicose veins, and bruises do a disappearing act too! Kit is packaged in a handy tin case and includes Leg Magic with SPF 16 in two great shades, primer and finishing powder, camellia lotion, and an application sponge and powder brush. Application instructions are also included. Available in Light/Medium, Medium/Dark and Women of Color.

I'm sorry you are upset but I am sure your makeup lady can do something about it. She seems like she is in the rebellious stage....ooh to be 18 again

Re: TATTOO COVER
Bad tattoo decisions sorry to hear that...
You should not cover it and let her see what a bad choice it was years from now by letting her see the pics.
I made a bad choice when i was 18, hence the reason why i have a HUGE piece covering it up..

It costs a lot though - as I'm learning wih my SIL and her hot pink hair. Once they're in the BP, you can only make so many pictures black and white before turning to airbrushing.
There's always a shawl!

Re: TATTOO COVER
i have an issue with this. saying that people need to keep their tattoos covered for their wedding and its not the appropriate 'look' really gets under my (tattooed) skin. i have a full sleeve tattoo and a huge tattoo on my shin. i think its absolutely gorgeous and everyone i've ever met says the same thing. just because i have tattoos, that means i dont have the 'bride look'? thats super lame. i'm dealing with this issue now with my grandma saying i need to cover up my tattoos.. why? its ME, its a part of who i am, the reason i am who i am. theres no way i will cover my tattoos on my wedding day.
my aunt wanted me to cover it for her day and i had no problem with that. she didnt even asked me i just kinda assumed.. but now she doesnt want me to.. which is a weight off my shoulder because trying to find a dress to cover that wasnt fun. but still.. i just hate how most people think.

wow, that looks amazing.. i'm using jackie too!! she's really great. i hope you find something that you are happy with and it works well. i don't think it's so much that people should 'have' to cover it up and i don't think it's anything personal against her or people with tattooes... it just seems odd that she did it right before your wedding like that, especially when you specifically asked her not to... and that's the part that makes it not right and unfair to you. that's why i think you have a right to ask her to cover it up. maybe she just needs the attention, i used to be like that at 18!! lol so many dumb things i did...
i really hope everything works out for you and you are happy with the outcome!!!
