Tattoos
Since a lot of here say we are getting our tattoos covered for the wedding I was just wondering how many everyone has? What are they of? and if your willing to share
where are they located??I'll go first-I have a purple flower w/ a black swirly design on the back of my left shoulder and a tribal band w/ a small flower on the small of my back.
Edited to say: my dad had me and my mom's name on his arm, now that they're divorced he turned her name into a row of flowers!

Re: Tattoos
I have 3 !!!!!!
1 on the side of my tummy, it's of my late ringneck parakeet, kinda sexy, when I'm in shape anyway LOL
1 on my left top of my arm, it's of a sun, very cool shading . . . this is the one I'm covering up for the wedding
1 - FHs favorite, is on my lower back, it goes all the way across, it's a rosevine, and it forms a slight V when it gets the small of my back

Re: Tattoos
I've had my tatoo for 8 years and it's fading, maybe since I have dark skin. It's several flowers on my upper thigh, I still love it and would like to get it brightened up soon. I got it at Peter Tatoo by Marguerite, anyone know if she still works there or is she retired?Edited to say that DH has my name tatooed on his arm, to this day, I still can't believe it

Re: Tattoos
I have two. But both are well hidden without covering them up. One is on my ankle. Very hard to describe, I call it 'tribal flower' and the other is across my lower back. It is three flowers in the middle in pinkish red and some tribal going out to the sides of my back. Hard to explain. I can't really stand it. But as long as they can be covered I'm happy!I've had them for about 6 years. I wish I could get rid of them.

Re: Tattoos
Nina,in the meanwhile, get some AloeVera Gel, (you can buy a small tube at GNC or CVS for a buck or 2)
Anyway, rub it over your tatoo 2X daily for a few weeks, and you'll notice it'll brighten up your tatoo.
If you're still not satisfied at that point, then get it recolored.

That was my last one, b/c I knew no other tattoo could live up to that one

Re: Tattoos
I have a sun and moon with flames and fire, and a small saturn near it on my right shoulderOriginally I was planning to cover them with the dress, but the dress I chose does not have a back.
Now the tough part. My parents are in their 70's.
I have had these tattoos 4 - 5 years, and they have no idea that I have them. They are of the old school that tattoos only belong on sailors !!. I need to tell them, and I think I should do it before the wedding, I just haven't figured out how......any suggestions

Re: Tattoos
Thanks! My friend is going through that laser surgery now. It takes about 10 weeks to do for her. You have to wait before each session. It is very expensive and I heard it hurts MORE than when the tattoo was put on. I will deal with it. Some days I do think they are nice. Lucky for me they can be covered! Thanks again!

Re: Tattoos
I have a four-leaf clover on my right thigh. And on my ankle I have a claddaugh w/ celtic designs & a shamrock in the middle. I have to find a pic & post it. It's bigger then I wantd but I love it!!As for Marguerite I'm not ure if she still works there. Everyone bragged about her but I heard from some REAL tattoo freaks that she has a light touch & they will fade. So, I got both of mine at Richies Tattoo in Elmont. He's amazing & VERY clean!
Helen-I grew up in a VERY similiar house hold as you as you know (You can take the person out of Dublin, but you can't take the Dub out of the person!!) The thing with tattoos is that they it's done & over with. My Grandfather had them ALL over!! And my Mother still flipped when she found out that any of us had them (let alone 4 of her 6 kids) I would just tell them straight out. It's usually what works best. Parents usually appreciate the honest approach. Don't be suprised if you hear some yelling!!
I had plenty of that & I heard the word eejit alot!!
GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: Tattoos
Helen, forgot to say, that my dad never knew I had a tattoo, but he saw mine (on my arm) one day b/c I wore a strapeless dress, he didnt mention it at all to my surprise, until like a year later
Started lecturing how God didnt mean for me to ruin my body. . . .
I ignored him, and that seemed to work

Re: Tattoos
Irishtracy--I wonder if that's why mine is faded? It was so long ago, and it's just shaded and not fully colored in, she might have done it too light.

Re: Tattoos
I have an angel fish on my lower back. I told my mom about it but my dad found out from seeing it one day (**** the low ride jeans fashion). He wasn't thrilled and wasn't at all touched that I got an angel fish because my parents nickname for me when I was a kid was their little golden angel fish.I've had it for 7 years and I'm really glad its in a spot I don't see often. I sometimes forget about it and then get excited when people notice.

Now I look back I think one is more than enough. It is a map of Jamaica with the flag in it.
