We have a party there every year from work. THe food is ok it is definately more about the surroundings than the food

I've been to events there and we even looked at it for our wedding. The food is okay. Their food at the resturant is better.

When we meet with someone about our wedding we felt very rushed. Also, the space they showed us was very small.

I felt like their prices were more about where it was located than the service they provided.

I've only been to the restaurant-- and I feel the restaurant food was outstanding and the service was also excellent-- however, I cannot say much about the catering portion of it b/c I have never been to an event there. When we were eating there once, however, a bride was getting married and then another wedding was going on also-- and the staff led one bride right through the other bride's CH!!!!!! At one point the brides were looking right at each other

I love that restaurant. It is my favorite, the food I though was awesome. I went there for a party once, and enjoyed it as well, just had one complaint it was a 'white' affair, and they served ziti, and buffalo wings.

I have been there 2X and IMO, it was defiantly more about the atmosphere and not the food. I really ate nothing that I was 'WOW' about, but it is a gorgeous place.

I was there for a wedding last year and the same thing happened. Tavern on the Green seems to draw so much attention from its name and location. The bride had an outdoor ceremony but unfortunately, you could hear traffic and cars honking all throughout the ceremony (along with the bikers tooting their little bells). The rooms are very 'busy' in my opinion - too much decor and too many pieces (such as chandeliers and paintings). The food was ok and the service was ok as well. I personally think there are plenty of other places in NY that you would like better. Try looking at the website below - it lists all the venues in NYC that can hold a wedding. Very informative. Just register (its free) and you can get a list of over 200 locations.

Best of luck.

Re: Tavern on the Green, Tribeca RT & Gotham Hall Reveiws

Okay Ladies, Just got back from Tavern on the Green, Gotham Hall and Tribeca Rooftop.
Quick Reviews:
Tavern - Hated it! They 'make' you use their in house florist. Rooms are VERY Busy, flowers everwhere... and we stayed for lunch, not too impressed.
Gotham Hall - (37th & Broadway) - Absolutely beatiful - but very very expensive - WAY out of our league...
Tribeca Rooftop - OUR FAVORITE SO FAR!!!! you get the best bang for your buck..
Anyone out there looking these are just our opinions, if you're looking in the city, they are all worth checking out.
We're off to 4 more on Thursday... i need a glass of wine and a rest from looking tomorrow. Thanks for all the info!!
