Tax Returns

Is anyone else relying on tax returns to help pay for their wedding? If we dont get ours by March i'm pretty sure our wedding isn't happening! Lol i'm half kidding but...yeah.

Yep, we're using our tax returns - we're basing it off how much we got last year. This year should be more but we low balled it just in case. First second we get our W-2's - I'll be at the accountant getting my taxes! Hah

I am relying on that money to buy FH's wedding gift...I would like to get him a dress watch (like a Movado or something) for the wedding and I don't really have spare cash around to do that. So that's where my return will go!

i hope so....its cutting it close. Last year I got my return deposited around Feb. 5th. But they are saying that this year they may be delayed. UGH that would suck.....we aren't going to depend on it, but it would help so much!!!!

Tax accountant here ladies....there is going to be a delay in processing certain tax returns this year. It all depends on which forms you file. The IRS has to re-program their computers due to the late signing of the extension of the 'Bush tax cuts'. They are telling us mid to late February.

I am using my refund to finish paying off my dress! At this rate, I might actually have three wedding dresses in my house....ugh!

Does that mean we can't file our taxes until mid to late February?

If you electronically file you will have to wait. If you paper file the IRS will not be able to process your return until the computers are updated. So basically you could mail it but it will just sit there until then. I recommend e-filing anyway, they process them faster, which means you get your money faster. Also, having them direct deposit your refund is the fastest way to get your money without having to pay the stupid 'refund anticipation loan' fees. A total waste of your money IMO.

I defiantly am! Since I lost my job, the tax money may be some of the only money i can contribute to FH this year

Ah okay - so as long as I e-file, I should be okay then. I just need the money by end of February.

Yeah definitely. we counted this year's and last year's (although my last year's tax return went to toehr expenses, not the wedding), in our wedding find. Even with the delay we should have it on time. i don't make much, so I don't get back much, but it will definitely help. It'll come in time to pay for FH's ring and maybe I'll set the rest aside for tips because you need cash for that!

I wouldn't say DEPENDING on the returns but I will be so much less stressed if we had an extra few thousand since we are getting down to the wire
