Ok so i THINK i finally found a BM dress that I like dress, color, and material, but it's a tea length!! I never pictured myself having a tea length dress as my BM dress, but i really like it! For some reason, I can't get it out of my head that a tea length dress is not as formal as a floor length dress and that it takes away from the formality of a wedding ( I hope nobody takes offense to this, just sharing my opinion).
What do you guys think about this?
Also, are gold BM dresses OK if Bridal gown has pewter beading?

Re: tea length
Most tea length dresses can be special ordered full length. Did you ask?
I think gold dresses will be fine even with pewter beading on your gown.

Re: tea length
i wore a tea length dress as a bridesmaid once & i don't think it took away from a formal wedding. i think the most important thing when picking bridesmaids dresses is that they look good on all involved & that they compliment your dress.

Re: tea length
I really wanted to do tea length but one of my BMs is SUPER skinny...her calves looked like little toothpicks holding her body up.
Just thought I'd share my experience. If you don't have stick skinny girls you should be fine.

I don't think they take away plus it's however you want it you're the BRIDE

I'm doing tea length dresses - which I never would have thought I would pick - and I love them! My girls look great!

Re: tea length
You should ask if they can make them full-length gowns... some are able to be converted.

I say have them try it on before you rule it out... See how it looks on everyone

Re: tea length
i personally think they are a little less formal than full lenghth but can still look beautiful!
the only thing i was gonna say was that if your wedding is in march it might be a little chilly still for tea-length. ?!

Re: tea length
definitely have the girls try them on. I do not know if this is impt to you or not, but if you have girls who are tall and some who are short the bottom of the dress will hit in different places on their legs i dont know how it will look in pictures when they are all lined up.

Re: tea length
Depending on the fabric and the style of the dress, a tea length can look super formal. I am doing tea length because my BM's have already requested it.

Re: tea length
tea length or floor length both are beautiful.... Personally I prefer floor length and many designers will make their tea length dressed floor length and vice versa. It is worth asking if you would prefer them longer.

Re: tea length
yes tea length dresses are most def appropriate for an event such as a wedding! they can be more formal by picking a formal material (i.e. not cotton) i want my girls to wear tea length dresses for an early november wedding and its a night wedding. it can be done and it looks just as formal as a floor length if you pick the right material.

Re: tea length
I personally loooove short dresses.. i always thought i would have long dresses.. but I decided against it for my own reasons. I think you can def dress them up and i dont feel its less formal although I know some do..
as far as gold bridesmaid dress and pewter detail on wedding dress.. im sure no one would notice that and it will look beautiful.. im a bit nutty and i used to have this thing about silver and gold not going together.. but then i got this necklace for christmas that was a gold chain and silver tiny circles.. absolutely loved it... so the combination is def growin on me now.. !!:)

Re: tea length
I like tea length and that is what I am hopefully getting for my girls, if however once they try them on and look horrible, I will do full length, but I have my heart set on tea length.
I do not think they make the wedding any less formal.
