teacher brides...

quick question... as far as u'r administrators go.. are u inviting them?

i have one principal and two ap's. neither of the ap's are my direct supervisors, and obviously they aren't friends.. okay well one is sort of my supervisor..i guess i just don't respect her like that.. lol i was thinking bout just inviting my principal and not the ap's.. is that bad protocal?

we have atradition in my school, we only invite the principal, but she does not go to any of them, she just gives a small gift. It works out great, I don't feel bad for not inviting her and I don't have to worry about her coming

I did invite my principals- neither came- I didn't think they would- it was more out of respect-but I do like them both anyway, It would have been nice if they were there

Re: teacher brides...

it depends on how u feel
i am an AP and i have been invited to 5 of the 7 girls that have gotten married in my 4 years there

the ones i wasnt invited to were during my first year

no one takes offense and no one expects to be invited
i do think its the proper thing to invite your boss or direct supervisor but im also friendly with many of them

my principal gets along well with the teachers that i plan on inviting, and he and i are pretty cool, we talk a lot bout in school and out of school stuff so i do think he'd come.. i think they would be able to sit at the table together.. as for my ap's.. i think i'm going to pass on those invites..

thanks a bunch for the feedback ladies..

I invited my principal (she is AMAZING and so supportive) and also my music supervisor. I've only been there for one school year but they've been so wonderful to me.

Yeah I think you're fine with just your principal- no worries about AP's. Then again I don't have AP's so I'm sure I'd be just as unsure as you were!

Fh and I both work in schools. we will not be inviting administration.

I feel that this is my private life, we dont need to worry about them judging us or our families. I get very uptight when i am infront of administration, (FH could care less hehe) so i would feel uncomfortable having them there.

Basically there are a few people in our schools who we are very close with, these are teachers/support stafff, they will be the only ones invtied, and only because we have become good friends with them.

Re: teacher brides...

I think it depends...if you are with a school for a while and really know the AP/Principal, go for it...but if you or they have only been working together a year or so, I don't think it is necessary

I invited my immediate supervisors but did not invite my principal. I do not report directly to her and we do not have a personal relationship.

The staff in my school are all pretty close I invited most of them, including my Principal and VP. They all came in a party bus together! It was really fun to have everyone share that day with me. Of course that is not always the case for everyone.....I would at least invite your Principal and VP's....

I am inviting my principal because we are a really small school and our principal goes to everything (we've have a bridal shower, baby shower, retirement parties) and everyone is really close. HTH!
