the more neutral the better--blacks, grays, browns and navys. u want them to remember u, not what u were wearing.
try syms. i've gotten some nice suits there, ann taylor loft has nice ones too.

Black is good... i would stay away from bright colors. gray is also good... stick with a solid color (no prints...)
good places to go... marshall's or tj maxx... if you're an average size, they have good deals...
Also, there is this place in westbury i think... it's called K&G...they have TONS of stuff for WAY cheap!!!!
also, macy's often has good sales...

I usually wear a basic black pants suit for interviews and I always tie my hair back too. I got one at kohls for a good price.

i have always been told for teaching to wear a skirt suit....i dont know why. Thats what i have...a balck skirt suit with a pink pinstripe I HAD to have color in there somewhere. I got mine at Macy's. I would ivest in something nice b/c you will hopefully be suing it a lot. I have worn mine 4 times in the last two weeks! Then also get a cheaper one for second interviews.

I have a nice gray tweed one, and a khaki one when the gray is dirty or something. I hate just a plain black suit, it makes me feel like I'm going to a funeral, but that's just me, I know it doesn't bother most people.
And I always wear a skirt / skirt suit when doing job interviews... it just feels more formal and professional to me.
Oh, and I bought my gray suit at the Limited and my khaki one at Bloomingdales. Not as cheap as some of the other places people have suggested, but I felt like I wanted to make an investment and get a really great, quality suit, because it's definitely something you use a lot.

I agree with the color ideas above. Marshall's and TJ Maxx have great finds, and I've also seen great deals on suits at Macy's. If you have the time, go to the Tanger Outlets. My friend got a beautiful suit at Ann Taylor for like $50. Even the regular Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft have really good deals at times.

Def. check out Macy's @ sunrise mall...they have really great suits, and their always on sale. What position are you interviewing for?
I also don't care for basic black, I have a dove gray and white pinstripe suit that I love.

Go to Lord and Taylor, you can get a great suit on sale. Jones of NY makes great affordable suits.
Stick with the 'Power Colors' black, navy, dark green. Nothing light.

Ditto on this one! I got some great suits and pants from there!! Kate Hill makes some nice ones too...the ankles aren't too tapered and that's something I HATE!! Good luck hun! Let us know how everthing goes

Jcrew and Banana Republic are my suit places. I have suits that I bought there years ago and they are still in perfect condition. Stick with basic black or slate gray.

H&M Express Macys
I'd go with a navy suit, or a black suit with a blue shirt underneath. Someone once told me navy blue is great for interviews.

For interviews a basic black suit with a white shirt is appropriate it makes you look assertive. For a second interview a gray or navy is recommended.
I bought mine from Banana Republic they make great work clothes.

Ann Taylor Macy's Limited
I dont like express for an interview bc their suits tend to be more trendier cuts (which I love, but not for an interview)

I have been told that you want to stand out in an interview....DON'T Wear black.....i Have been told by administrators that everyone starts to blend in....i Would wear a tan or taupe....w/ Bright color shirt under it SO you stick out! Jcrew has nice ones and so does express and the limited. good luck
