Me too, but I do not think it is only the teachers either. My kids are bringing some nice colds home to me

I have not felt well in weeks. On Friday, I had 13 kids out. There was a stomach virus going around my room.

I have been ok this year. Although about 2 hours ago, one of my parents inform me 'Yeah, I think the 2 of us had some kind of stomach virus this weekend!' or 'Maybe its something we ate'
Please dont send your child to school if you are not 100% sure what was wrong!! Uuuugh!

Yup, had/have an upper respiratory infection, finished taking my Z-Pac two weeks ago. I still have this lingering dry cough, I'm going for a chest x-ray this week. EVERYONE is sick

Re: teachers
I'm actually doing better this year. I've only been sick once (although it took me about 2 weeks to get rid of it). I think it's because I changed from preschool to 1st & 2nd graders. Less climbing on me and mouthing toys and drooling!

Re: teachers
2nd go round with the same freaking style of cold. Well at least I know that I will have no voice next weeks since this is working just like the last time
I think it is because it got so cold so fast then warm and cold and all that! Plus if my girls would bundle up and try wearing long sleeves a little bit it might help!

I'm in the middle of my 3rd or 4th cold this year. This year is worse than my 1st year.

Re: teachers
I've been teaching high school for ten years. My first year I was sooooo sick. Literally the entire year. I couldn't breathe w/o a Halls cough drop in my mouth.
1. I know it's hard but try to get more sleep. We have a rough job and it's very physical.
2. Second, take your vitamins it will boost your immune system.
3. Third, no matter how cold it is outside I leave one window open a crack to let the germs circulate out.
When the kids are not in the room during your prep throw all of the windows wide open if you can and close the door for ten minutes.
My cousin teaches little ones and she Lysols down the entire room when they are out of it, twice a day. So far a lot less colds this year.
4. Wash you hands... you shoud be doing this at least a dozen times a day... as if you had OCD. Everytime I touch or grade their papers I wash my hands after.
hope it helps. As for your first timers it's going to happen you have to build up immunity. I never get sick from colds anymore (after ten years) but I do get wicked sinus infections that knock me out for days (allergies)

Well, YES, i've been VERY sick so far this year.....here's why....I have NO windows in my room that lead to the outdoors. There's a window on the hallway that doesn't open.
I teach chorus in a TINY room....so all of their germy little germs come flying out of their mouths at me in a room that I can't ventilate.
I get asked by other teachers to please leave my doors closed because the music is distracting.
AND, I have a sink in my room that I constantly wash my hands in AND I lysol...it's the singing, I'm telling you, I'm going to wear a mask!
