How would you answer the question....

'What is your biggest weakness?' at an interview...

I said something along the lines of having so many great ideas from my classes that I want to try, but not having enough time to implement all of them, or time to create all the materials needed.

hmmm...having a soft spot for the kids. sometimes, they will whine about h/w and every once in a while, i will say, fine, okay...2 pages. or something like that.

time management
knowing when to end a discussion so there's time for the rest of the lesson

IMHO I would never say time management b/c that's a HUGE interview question- time management and classroom management. They will want to know you will be able to get more than one lesson done in the day.

My DH was on an interview committee for our building for a few years and he has said that the best answer for a weakness is that you always feel the need to reflect on each lesson and revise it for the next time you do it. It's a weakness b/c it takes up a lot of personal time.

That was worded better when my DH told me it.

I wouldn't say this but my biggest weakness is spending my own money for materials that should be provided by my school. Teachers end up using so much of their own money that it isnt funny.

I always say 'sometimes I just work myself way to much.... I try to do more than sometimes I can handle..' something along those lines.... its has always worked for me.

I'd answer that my biggest weakness is chocolate... Then I'd go into saying seriously it would have to be not knowing a lot of the little tricks that experienced teachers know to help students learn knew concepts. I'd then explain how I'd ask my colleagues for advice on how to get through some tricky concepts.

Whatever you say is your biggest weakness...make sure to have an answer for how to fix it - whether you already have, or are in the process of doing so
