Re: Teachers- A good lesson...
I taught second grade inclusion, and the kids loved it when I taught Parts of Speech. After you go over each one and have students give an example, you do a Mad Lib for the whole class to participate in. I know there is a website where you can make your own mad libs. The kids LOVED it.
Good Luck

Re: Teachers- A good lesson...
I taught 2nd grade as well.
Once I did a graphing lesson using colored goldfish which went over big.
I also did a lesson around Strega Nona. We read the book aloud & I had boys vs. girls & I'd stop and ask a question on e/ page & then score points for correct answers (sure to keep the kids quiet as I'd deduct points for noise). Then they broke up w/ partners & made their fave part of the story w/ crayons & pasta (gluing onto piece of construction paper) & then told their friend why it was their fave part or what part of the story it was. Then both kids presented their partner's picture to the class.
I'll think of some more, gotta get back to cooking right now.
