How can I get certified to teach in another state? I am interested in teaching in CT. Any ideas?

I would suggest going to the state's department of ed website and I am sure you can find out info there. That is what I did when I wanted to get info on teaching in Florida.

I looked into getting certified in Florida when I was going to move there and I know I was able to get a job right away with my NY certification. But you had to take the Florida certification test as well and they gave you a year to get it done. Try checking into their certification stuff online. Maybe they will have a website with info listed.

NYS has a reciprical agreement with most states...in most disciplines
which means that you may just have to take their test (or the NTE/Praxis)...maybe fingerprints...and then you are fine...
I just got my CA license...(I was able to get permanant...since I had permanant NYS license and 5+ years of experience...) just be sure to look at all the possibilities
