im definitly not having school....12- 18 inches is enough to get me off until at least wed...my district closes at one flake

I work in the Newburgh CSD....Orange County..... we have extra snow days to use cause we dont get presidents week off

Thats where my DH cousins Go.

I doubt the city schools will be closed.
Regents actually start on Tuesday.

It is rare for my district to close. However, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a snow day. I have a feeling roads will be cleared in plenty of time. One more month until Feb break

My students have some sort of superstition that says if you sleep with your pj's inside out, there'll be a snow day!

I always crack up thinking of all of them insisting that they wear their pj's inside out!

We should give it a try!

My son came home on Friday telling me we needed to do this! Inside out AND backwards, no less! We did it last night here!

That is totally the superstiton! I've heard it and told it to my students for years! They get the biggest kick out of it! You can also hang a pair of pajamas in the window for a little extra luck!

I would LOVE the university where I work to be closed tomorrow!! We have one of those horrible events where kids just show up and admissions lets them in - doesn't care what their grades were We're seriously there until 10 at night!! I really hope we're closed but if we're open, I'm hoping all this snow will keep a lot of students away!

I work in the city too... we'll be open. I also went to school in the city and we never had snow days ever!! And my mother always wanted me to have perfect attendance so if school was open I was trudging there in the snow!!!

And I hate snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I doubt it... it's a lonnnnnnng way off to Feb break... we need some snow days!!!

At least you have a Feburary break. Once every 8 years we lose our Feb break. I don't think there will be a snow day but I left sub plans on my desk I will not risk driving in

OMG that really sucks!! our vacations are definitely shorter this year but NO Feb break... I bet you're REALLY looking forward to April!! :)
