Teachers Federal Credit Union

I want to go there to look into getting a mortgage from them. Do I need an appointment? Do I have to have any accounts there?
I am a teacher...I am hoping this is enough.

I bleong to teachers and let me tell you that I LOVE them. They are just so easy to deal with. I don't think you need an appointment .If you are anywhere near Port Jeff, I would go the the one on North Country Rd by the train tracks because it's not very busy at all. If you do have to open an account, it's like 50 bucks for a savings account and nothing for checking. Good luck.

Duh! I didn't answer your question! As far as I know, no appointment is necessary.

When I went for my student loans I wanted them through teacher, well I had to open an account. So I have a savings account there with the minimum of $50. They are great.

I use them and go to the Pt Jeff branch as well. They have always been nothing but helpful. Good luck!

I use the Nassau Educators FCU and LOVE them! If you are a teacher I don't think you need to be sponsored there. I know you need an appt. for a mortgage. I don't know if Nassau is good for you (i.e. you live into Suffolk).

I used TFCU as well...no you don't need an appoint...but you may have to open an account ($50)...I am assuming you are a Suffolk teacher? thats the requirement...

but just to let you know...there is a $300 mortgage application fee...
