Teachers! How many days...

How many days off do you get for your wedding?

My local district gives the bride/groom 3 days.

FH doesn't know how many his district gives - he's calling tomorrow.

Just wondering....whats the norm?

What district do you work for? I never thought that I would get days off!!!! My Fh and I are both teachers!!! Whoo whoo!!

i don't work for any district - MIL is a union secretary, and said that Kings Park teachers get 3 days off for their wedding.

you get days off?? i have never heard of this either... we just have to use our personal days if we want to take off...

we have to use a personal day and i believe it's limited to 1.

In my district, you have to use your personal day(s)/sick days. I wanted the full 2 week honeymoon, so I was a summer bride!

we're most likeyl doing a weekend getaway (maybe even NYC), then a long trip between xmas and new years.

none, we have to use our own personal days. Thats why I had mine in the middle of the summer and others arrange it right before a holiday.

I've never heard of this either. As far as I know my district doesn't give any ...those that do you are really lucky..that's awesome! We're getting married the Friday before my Spring break next year.

FI and i are both teachers and neither of us have ever heard about this in a contract. Thats nuts

My district allows you to take 2 personal days.

In my district we are not allowed to take any days for our own wedding, it is written in our contract! Yes even our personal or sick time. I wasn't feeling well the day after my wedding.
