Just wondering if any teachers out there are inviting their students, particularly if they are havign a FULL Mass. I thought it would be cute to have them there, but at the same time, I am having a Mass that will run at least an hour.... so I am thinking maybe I shouldnt' extend an invite. What do you think?

Esp with the Sp. ed Popul. (being a spec ed teacher too) you ask the students/family that you are close with. I would only invite them to the church. And I wouldn't invite all of them.
a friend of ours invited a student with autism who she worked closely with and was close with the family. Obvi. his mother came with him. He was well behaved.

I personally wouldnt-- but you know your kids and your own relationship with them. I really think it depends on that.

I can't invite them bc I'm getting married @ the hall and I def. don't want my seniors anywhere near an open bar!
If I were getting married at the church, I would invite them- I went to the church for one of my teachers when I was a high school student- I was touched that she thought enough of us to invite us (keep in mind that we were a 12th grade, AP class of all girls and all kinda nerdy- so there wasn't too much of a chance of us misbehaving!)

i agree with ejm i think it crosses the line of professionalism. granted im not a teacher, i am a social worker with adolescents. if my boss found out i was inviting students he would probobly have a problem with that. plus it would feel like i was still at work.

I went to one for a kindergarten teacher in my bulding, it was a full mass and they all came and were well behaved. I'm invited my 3rd graders now and my previous 1st graders (now in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th)

I am a teacher and come from a family of teachers and have many friends who are, it's definitely different in our profession, it's not like you're invited them to the reception...

I invited my students and they were so well behaved and I had 5 year olds to 11 year olds there. They were so excited to be invited and they were in awe of the wedding. I had a full mass also and they stayed the whole time. I would definitely invite them.
