Teachers inviting kids

Teachers inviting kids

I know this has been asked before, but I'm having trouble finding help. Can anyone help me with the wording for a mock invitation/flyer that invites my class and their parents to my ceremony? I'm stuck! Thank you!

I'm not a teacher, but I think this is adorable! It really makes the kids feel special!

I copied someone's poem from here
It says, It's hard to imagine that in just a little while, Rich and I will be walking down the aisle. And nothing gives us more joy and pride than to have you right there by our side.
Please join us for the ceremony of ...
Ceremony is from 6:30-7:00. A class photo will immediately follow.

I also looped with my class and my fiance has come into the class twice to do a project with my class, so they address him as Rich.

I am mailing the invites out soon.

Re: Teachers inviting kids

i just photocopied a copy of my invitation onto nice paper, stapled it to red construction paper, used my fancy scissors to make a border and the kids had their own invite.. the invite only had the church info on it anyway. they loved it and felt so special...

My class has asked if they could come, so I was thinking of making a small flyer inviting them to the ceremony only.

Re: Teachers inviting kids

Thanks everyone, very cute suggestions! I ended up making up a little poem for my first grade class, added some wedding clip art, copied it on colored paper and tied it with a ribbon like a scroll. They were so excited, it was really sweet. Here's what I wrote:

First Grade is almost over and summer will
be here
That means Miss ______’s wedding is near!

You are all so special to me and I’d like to say,
I’d love to see you on my wedding day!

It would be my pleasure to have you there
To celebrate this very happy affair!

Then added church info.

On mine I wrote, You are invited to send hugs and good wishes, as you watch Miss Coleman become a Mrs.

Then I wrote another cute poem that started Parents, Parents did you hear,
Miss COleman's wedding is drawing near....sorry I dont remember all of it...it was so cute tho!

Re: Teachers inviting kids

You guys might want to go over with your class what happens at a wedding and maybe how everyone should behave. A friend of mine invited her class and they talked through the whole thing and they all stood in the aisle and kept creeping all the way up to the front during the ceremony.

These are such great little poems. The problem I have is that I teach ESL so I am not sure the parents would understand those poems since many of them speak limited or no English. They probably wouldn't translate very well either. Maybe I could just write something really simple and direct. I would love to see some of my kids there at the church!!

I used the poem- School is almost over and summer will be here..... My kids LOVED it! I went to Staples and bought really pretty paper and rolled like a scroll with curling ribbon around it. They really felt special. I had children I knew from other school things asking for them after school. Parents thought it was great. I had tons of kids at the church and then we took a group picture. I love looking back on them.

Re: Teachers inviting kids

these ideas are great! I never thought of giving the kids little invitations, but what a great idea!!!!! Adding this thread to the notebook! :)

Question for teachers who did this...
Did you fidn that the kids were well behaved? I teach special ed. needless to say it's difficult for them to sit still, etc. and I would die if they were chatting or otherwise being disruptive during the ceremony. I am also having a full Mass...perhaps that would be too long for them to sit through????
