Teachers inviting kids

That's a really cute idea. I teach Pre-K in Brooklyn. If my wedding wasn't in Long Island, I'd consider it.

I think I am going to do it....I teach kindergarten and I think that it would be a little calming to see their adorable little smiles as I am walking down the aisle!

i was going to invite them but now i'm not.

at my friend's wedding last year, they all came dressed in jeans and looking sloppy. that's not going to fly with me.

the para in my room (danigrl28) got married and i brought in pics for them to see. they saw pics of danielle kissing her husband and started saying 'ewww'. all they kept saying was when i get married, they are going to yell 'ewwww' when we kiss. that sealed it for me.

i would love to have them there, but i'm not letting one or 2 ruin my ceremony

I am also a special ed teacher and would love it if some of my kids would come. A few parents have approached me and are excited about going. I am sure even if the students call out it will not 'ruin the day.' Let them 'ewwww' when I kiss my FH' They are kids! Actually it will just add to my ceremony. My students are a part of my life and it would be great to see them as I walk down the aisle. If it is long for them, I am sure the parents would have enough sense to sit in the back and leave early if need be.

We are teachers b/c we love kids. (I think that is a pre-requiste for being a teacher)
By the way, one of my students who can be impulsive asked to be my flower girl and I was touched. I am going to let her help hand out the birdseed or bubbles at the ceremony. I can hear her yelling now 'Take it!' and I love it !

My kids keep asking me if they can come and they are in middle school.

It's cute. They want to know my 'color scheme' and ask me about my dress all the time.

I hope they show up.

BUMP for Shellycakes

FH's students don't just want to come to the wedding, they want to be flower girls, bridemaids, junior bridesmaids and one even asked to me my Maid of Honor!!!! Kids are so cute!
