Re: TEACHERS PLEASE HELP ME

Make a caterpillar out of a sock to use as a hand puppet.

He should make all of the food the caterpillar eats out of construction paper. Make it big so that he could cut a whole in the middle big enough to put his arm through.

Read the book with the class and act out the pages with the caterpillar puppet.

Every day the caterpillar eats more food. Every time the caterpillar eats something use the puppet to show the class what is eaten by putting your arm through the construction paper food.

Example...on Monday the caterpillar eats 1 red apple. Make a red apple out of construction paper. When you read that page have the caterpillar 'eat' the apple by sliding the paper up your arm.

This lesson is really cute when it's done. I hope I described it well enough. Forum mail me for more info.

Does he also need a template for a lesson plan?

Re: TEACHERS PLEASE HELP ME

as for the template for any of my lessons...this is what I do...(I am HS...so he might have to motify a little)

AIM: what do you want the kids to get out of this lesson...sometimes you see it as SWBAT - students will be able to - and you can have more than one

Motivation: whats a 2-5 min activity that can get the kids motivated about the subject? I always had my students answer a question in written form, but I don't know...masybe ask the students if they have ever seen a caterpilar...

Development: what is going to happen in the lesson..

1. read the book to class
2. discussion questions: a b & c
3. activity

Summary: how can you wrap up the lesson

Application: how can you relate the lesson to their everyday life?
