teachers please read a very sweet story

A woman at work who is retiring next year got a letter form a studenst who is now in her 40's and an actress who said that she is the person she is today b/c of this teacher. That coming form a single parent home was not easy but this teacher helped to belive that there was more out there and she could suceed. It was oo touching this letter i started to cry when i read it. I think tis is what teaching is all about. i would die for amoment like this.. So teachers even though its sometimes tough i guesswe aretouching children ina way without even knwouign teh long term impact we have on them.

That's really sweet. (I'm not a teacher, but I come from a 2 teacher home )

I always get misty when the Hallmark commercial comes on where the woman comes back to give her retiring teacher a card to tell him what a profound impact he had on her life and then tells him she's also a teacher . It gets me EVERY time. Teachers make such a different in their students' lives.

Thats a beautiful story. During flag day this week we had 2 letters like that shared and the students and retired teachers were there too. The teachers didnt even know. It was a surprise for them and I almost started crying in front of my students. So sweet!
