7 weeks if you don't include student teaching.
So far, I absolutely love what I do- I'm praying for a full time position however. Gotta buy a house!!!

I will be certified in May and I'm lookin for ANYTHING. lol

my student teaching was in
DeLuca Elementary (North Babylon)
i did 3rd and 4th grades
and i would give anything to still be doing it.

its a little early for jobs to be posted, but my best suggestion is to apply though OLAS, and then follow it up by sending a hard copy of your resume to the building principal as well (or the dept chair if you are secondary).

i just signed up for OLAS actually, the only problem is it asks if i was cleared by NYSED for teaching, and i'm not certified yet, so I had to put no for that.... i dont think anyone will hire me even as a sub with that. do you know if i can put yes for it?

I am an assistant teacher in Fresh Meadows in a Special Ed. School. ( So is FH).
And then I teach at an after school program, 1st grade at regular Ed elementary school. In Floral Park ( FH works there also, that is where we met).
I have been a T.A for 10 years. :)
I love my job.

have you filed your certification papers yet? b/c if so i remember putting something in that said that certification was pending....as long as your papers have been filed they can hire you.

Im a sub for Nassau BOCES so Im all over the place
Im cert. in elem. but I have been subing in classes w/ kids up to 21 yrs
about 2 months
yes i do...Some days are really draining and difficult but the good days make up for the bad ones

I Teach at Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School in Washington DC

and I teach Dance at my own Studio in DC as well

I teach 10 World History II and 12 grade African American Studies, and Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Lyrical to kids 3-teen

This is my 4th year teaching school and my 6th year teaching dance!

I love my Job!! I love being a teacher and shaping young minds!! Its a calling!
