and... if your like me, so do substitutes... SO let's give it up for the teachers who are helping shape the future of society... that is if we can break them from the attitudes that their parents let them get away with!!

I was @ Bosti today and I'm in Cherokee for the rest of the week... I actually subbed for Mrs. Puglin @ Bosti the other day b/c I have music in my background... I've been to Sycamore a few times. DO you know Mrs. Franza in K? I'm her future niece!!!

I graduated in December. I teach Secondary English (Grades 7-12). Right now, I am subbing and I start a leave replacement position in March at Babylon School District where I also student taught and sub. Today was a rough day but I love teaching! I still have to get my Master's and find a permanent job. Teachers have class!!! Haha I saw that on a teacher's magnet today when I was subbing and I thought it was so cute!

I teach in a middle school in Astoria. I teach 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts. This is my 3rd year. Six out of eight periods a day I love my job.

Can I play? I dont teach public school. I teach Medical Genetics and Genetics of Blood Diseases at Washington State University and Oregon Health and Science University. I've been teaching these for 3 years. Im hoping to transition to professor when Im done with my degree! Yay!

I teach in Downtown Brooklyn/Dumbo. I have been teaching for 2 years. I teach 9th and 10th Grade global studies. Some days I love it and other days not so much :)

my student teaching was in DeLuca Elementary (North Babylon) i did 3rd and 4th grades and i would give anything to still be doing it.
its a little early for jobs to be posted, but my best suggestion is to apply though OLAS, and then follow it up by sending a hard copy of your resume to the building principal as well (or the dept chair if you are secondary).
i just signed up for OLAS actually, the only problem is it asks if i was cleared by NYSED for teaching, and i'm not certified yet, so I had to put no for that.... i dont think anyone will hire me even as a sub with that. do you know if i can put yes for it?
is your cert pending at least? if so, i think you can put that.

Do you love your job? Yes and no!!!! I love the kids, yes they drive you up a wall but, they say and do the funniest things. They can really put a smile on your face.

I don't know if I qualify either but I will be graduating in May with my degree in elementary ed and special ed. I'm did my general ed. student teaching in Sachem and i'm doing my special ed. student teaching in William Floyd. I LOVE IT!! If anyone knows of any jobs that become available in sept. on LI or in the city please let me know. I'm willing to travel.

I just started student teaching 2 weeks ago at Francis Lewis HS in Fresh Meadows Italian 9th grade
this is so tough, I thought it would be alot easier any suggestions on how to deal with being so nervous all the time?
Also, FH is an 8th grade English teacher, this is his 2nd yr teaching and he seems content with it

Over time you will becomes less and less nervous. Im a sub and for the first month i was constantly nervous, I still am sometimes but it gets better with time and experience! Good luck!

hope it's ok that an 07 bride is crashing the 09 boards! i just got my cerification in elementary ed., and right now I'm subbing the North Babylon School District, which is where I student taught. Can't wait to get my own classroom!
