I am a college professor. I really want to go on my honeymoon right after the wedding, but I don't think I can miss that much school. Should I just wait until the semester is over or try and get the whole week off?

I did the same thing. I'm a special education teacher for children with autism. I wouldn't be able to leave them for a long period of time to go on a honeymoon. We decided to get married during the summer so we could go right away!

I have been toying with this too! I am teacher, but live out of state, so we have to travel to Li to get married. I really want to get married and then take our honeymoon, but that almost seems like it would involve more travel because after getting back from our honeymoon we would then have to drive home to Maryland. So...I don't know what to do!! Some teachers in my school have told me just to take my honeymoon right away and not worry about missing work, but all I can think of is all those sub plans I would have to write!!! I've thought about taking a mini-moon and then doing something long in the summer when I have the time to travel...I don't know. What your thoughts on this ladies?!
Where in Maryland do you live? My FH and I are looking into moving their after we get married. We have family their.

I don't think we've talked about it! lol I work in Brooklyn in a district 75 school. I commute in everyday from Suffolk. I teach children ages 11-14. Which DDI do you work in? I would love to work a little closer to home and thought about applying to DDI. Do you like doing the home services?
Ronkonkoma in the Young Autism Program. I LOVE doing home services. I've gotten so close with all the families.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure how that will work out. But a teacher I work with this year, got married in the beginning of February and took her honeymoon right after. We don't get a February break, so somehow she worked it out.

Re: teachers: when is your honeymoon?
The college I work at has almost no breaks. We don't have a spring break. We only closed the friday before Easter this year, that was literally our only break the whole spring semester. We do get off for two weeks between spring and summer sessions. I should be the 'mature professor' and wait...but I don't wanna :(
