Teachers...Help w/ hall bulletin...March/St. Patty's, Lent, etc.

Hi guys, we're having our 2nd open house in 2 weeks, w/ some of the same parents & so we need to change our hall displays. I wanted some easy/quick St. Patty's, Lent or March ideas.

Also, any quick story starters for kites? I was thinking....I was flying along when a strong wind came....

We're doing a lions and lambs board for March. I had the kids, trace and paint and cut out lions and lambs. Which I arranged on the board with the saying 'March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.'

**You should note that I'm a teacher in the preschool program at a child care center, so I don't know if my projects would apply to you.

How about Soaring into March or Spring.

I have the cutest board with leprachauns flying away on kites. LOL

I don't know if this one is good either, but last year I cut out a giant pot and a semi-circle with pre-drawn lines. I had the kids paint the pot black and paint the colors on the rainbow. They also cut circles out of yellow paper for the gold. I just added a cloud.

I've never taught a child over 5, so I don't really know. Sorry if this doesn't help either.

Hmm, I believe March is also Women's History Month. You could have them write a short essay on their favorite woman in history.

Thank you for your ideas...

We did mosaic Lent crosses today & they wrote what they are giving up/doing for Lent (I put in the hall).

I think tomorrow or Friday we'll do a kite story and I'll have them make paper kites.

I like the women's history report....good idea for a biography book report.

Thanks!!!!!!

Actually I have my bulletin board too and I found something really cute in Mailbox! It had said something like March Wishes or something but I changed it to 'Irish Blessings'... each kid got a rainbow and on it it said 'May...' (kinda of like the actual Irish Blessing) and each child had to write five wishes for another child in the class. I thought it was cute!

Otherwise I was going to do 'Jesus gave up his life because He loved us' and then have the kids write out what they gave up for lent and why...

Hope this helps

We usually make color poem using a rainbow pattern for spring/St. Patty's day. I did an interactive bulletin board last year with shamrocks that had math problems on them...the kids really liked it.
