Teachers....I need resume help!!

yes, yes & yes. your resume SHOULD be more than a page if you have been working for quite some time and have lots of experience in student teaching etc. and the etiquette is this-

if you have 2 pages and are MAILING IT it should be printed front & back

if you are HAND DELIVERING IT it should be printed on 2 pages & stapled.

i have had my resume professionally critiqued...

ALSO, because you are a teacher, i would consider doing something different to your resume to make it stand out. schools are FLOODED with resumes... i was jobless for quite awhile in education and i finally got a position after a year and a half (which compared to some, isn't so bad). schools that have only 1 position available will weed out resumes any way they want!

What kinds of things could I do that are different?

Unless you have about 10+ years of experience, your resume should be 1 page. This is true in almost any field, including teaching.

Anything longer gets redundant and potential employers will stop reading it. Furthmore, you need to leave the details to expand upon during your interview.

My resume is 1.5 pages. I could not make it any shorter. I got hired with it. Don't worry about it too much!! I used to stress over it too. If the job is meant for you they won't care how long your resume is...within reason. Good Luck!!
