Teachers....quick question

I have a 'full interview' this week with teachers, dept chairman, principals, board members, etc... And the lady on the phone said to bring anything that would help me. I am obviously bringing my portfolio, but I didnt know if i should put together a little packet for each person with my resume, certificatoin, letters of rec., and copies of my observations?? I have never been on an interview like this and I dunno what to bring to make me stand out.

TIA!

I think the packet is a great idea. I always bring more than enough resumes for everyone who will be on the committee...I think that scores points for being prepared. They may want to take notes on the resume itself. Also attach with a paper clip any certifications. I personally wouldn't attach observations, leave that in your porfolio. I think the letters of recommendation would also be good to attach.

Good Luck! Where is the interview?

Usually when you meet with a committee like that, the principal's secretary has aleready given everyone a copy of your resume. It never hurts to bring a couple of extra copies just in case.

I think if you made extra copies of things that you feel are important from your portfolio, like a project you did with students, or pictures of some of their work....since you only have ONE portfolio.

Good luck!

I would...the more information you bring with you, the better. You will appear to look organized and ready to answer any questions

When I graduated they told us to make a Brochure that will sell ourselves- It would have information like your certification, phil. of education, quotes that you like- anything that is going to make you memorable and stand out. I know a few people that brought them to interviews and the panel was very impressed! HTH

Good Luck!
