Re: teaching a demo lesson!!!
Sounds like you really know what you're doing. You know what they're looking for - student engagement and interaction, bridging gaps between content areas, etc. ... you'll be fine. You've been student teaching so you have the experience. And because the kids don't know you and there will be a bunch of 'suits' in the room, they'll be in 'show-off' mode, behaving well and trying to impress you.
Relax and enjoy... and good luck!

I am sure you will do great, remember to call on boys and girls equally and give each student sufficient time to answer any of your questions, and praise, praise, praise. Let us know haw it goes.

I am very confident that you'll do great.. I have to do something similar each year myself- I teach computers for NYC Parks & Recreation (at a recreation center) and each year as part of my annual evaluation they get to sit in on a day of my classes and such.
Just take things in stride and we're all rooting for you so don't worry!

Re: teaching a demo lesson!!!
I was supposed to do this 3 years ago for the school I teach in now but the morning of...I fell down the stairs on my way out of the house and sprained my ankle hahaha!!!! I was pretty nervous myself! So I had to call in and tell the secretary that I was on my way to the hospital because I fell down the stairs....SO embarassing! It was toward the end of the year so it never got rescheduled. But the good news is that they hired me anyway!
Good Luck tomorrow...The lesson sounds great!!! I'm sure the kids and the administration will love it!
dont stress its gonna be great and you are gonna get the job! but good luck

Re: teaching a demo lesson!!!
sorry i didn't respond yesterday - i came home and WENT TO BED. i was so exhausted (prob from all the stress and nerves) and had a headache so i literally fell asleep for the night...waking up only for about an hour at 1am. haha im an old woman!!!
ANYWAY - the lesson went GREAT!! the kids were fabulous, and they really loved making the characters and all of that stuff. i ended up having SIX people from the staff watching me, but i didn't even really realize they were there. once i got started teaching, it really just flowed. PHEW!! so glad it's over - i hear if im being offered the job a week from monday! so ill re-post then to let you ladies know :)
thanks for the support!!

Good luck! Once you get up there, all the nervousness will go away. It will be natural.
