teaching resume

Ok girls so I know this is not wedding related but I know a lot of you are teachers so I figured I would ask for input. I graduated with my masters in January 2007. I am currently working as a Kindergarten teacher BUT it is only a .5 position and it is not tenure track. I obviously would like a full time position for the fall. I am in the process of updating my resume and I am struggling on some things. Any helpful suggestions to my questions would be WONDERFUL! If it isn't too much of an inconvenience either...if anyone has any great resume formats that they want to FM...I would love you forever! I feel like I finally have the experience and education to get a full time position and I want to do whatever I can to stand out. Thank you so much in advance for your help!!!!!!

1. Should my education still come first even though I have more experience (an actual teaching position)? Should experience come first now?

2. Should I have an objective?

3. Is it still necessary to list my student teaching experiences?

At the moment, my resume is 2 pages and I feel like it needs to be condensed!

Re: teaching resume

Education always comes first... degree earned, school name and GPA (if it's good). I also put some of the names of courses that applied to teaching i. e. psychology of learning disabilities.

Teaching certifications come next (state, certification area and status (i.e. initial or professional).

Sicne you have very little teaching experience I would still include your student teaching experiences. All teaching experiences should go in chronological order from most recent first and should include school district, school name and grade level.

I did not put an objective on mine. i think the cover letter covers that, but if you have room, you could put one.

there is a teachers board on LIF... a lot of us post there.
