Anyone getting their teeth whitened for the wedding?? I totally want to but dont know where to go.... or what the reasonable price is.

I'm just using Crest white strips, they work fine for me, and when my dentist told me it was like $700 for the Zoom whitening, I
But apparently, when you go to a dentist in the midst of north shore suburban sprawl, they jack up the price $300, because I've heard Zoom is really only supposed to be like $400.

Oh wow thats crazy!!!! So do the white strips really work for you? Ive heard some girls talking about being sensitive to it after a week or something like that...

They work for me...I'm a big coffee drinker though, so I probably should stop drinking coffee the week before the wedding so it really works, but then I might pass out.
Only one time did it make my teeth sensitive...and I've used them a few times throughout the years. When it did though, it wasn't excruciating pain...but definitely uncomfortable. The real whitening supposedly hurts like a beast.

I am using bleaching trays (overnight) - my insurance covered most of it, so I would ask your dentist what the options are.

I might do the crest strips or ask my dentist. A coworker of FH used one of those either Zoom or Britesmile (not sure which one)....well they left the laser on too long on one of his front teeth and it chipped in half! The ended up having to take out his whole front tooth and replace it! After hearing that, I don't think I want to chance the laser whitening.

I got my teeth whitened a few years ago while doing a whole dental makeover. They still look great. My dentist told me not to bother with doing a full laser whitening. I have the trays already and he will be giving me the bleach before the wedding. I'm also getting a free cleaning as the dental office's wedding gift, so I expect that my pearly whites will really be pearly white that day!

oh no dont tell me that, that is scary! i think im going to think twice about doing the zoom a month before my wedding. now i dont even know if i want to even do it at all, lol! with my luck my dentist will prolly be stupid to do something like that and i wont have a tooth, lol! YIKES! thats all id need right before my wedding right? poor friend of yours! i was really thinking about doing the zoom, and fh definately wants to do this too.. so i dont know now! i havent tried the stripes, so maybe ill try them in a few weeks to see how it goes and if i see results. if not, than ill have to speak to my dentist and see what are the options!
but i did hear they are very expensive to do. the zoom or any of the other procedures.. between 400 and 700! =(

i'm going to do the dentist office whitening a few weeks before the wedding, they gave me a discount and are charging me $350. they normally charge $500. That's in the city. HTH

I did Zoom...love the results...BUT it was pretty painful...I mean maybe painful isnt the right word,,,,very uncomforable...I have very sensitive teeth and the light made my teeth REALLY sting, like BAD....ugh....you can also ask for a prescription for the whiteing gel and have them make you a mouth piece that works well (Also stings a little but not as much) HTH

Oh man.... I didnt know it was that expensive and didnt know that the laser could cause such problems! Hmmmm maybe I should just really try the crest strips and see how those go. Thanks ladies!!

i did zoom. it burnedd cuz i kept moving and the bleach went on my gums and burned them..turned them as white as my teeth. i couldnt sleep for like 3 days. i was miserable..but my teeth look fab so it was worth it.
