has anyone done this before? What was the experience like ie: did your teeth become overly sensitive? Did it last for awhile?
I would love to get mine professionly done but I'm kind of worried it will hurt. Does anyone have any recs?

Re: teeth whitening
i just use the crest white strips and i've had good results....have you tried them? I would try them first and then go the professional route if it doesn't work...they do make my teeth sensitive sometimes but the great thing is you can stop using them for a day or two and then continue HTH

I used the chrest strip also, with a few day break inbetween and never had any problems.

Re: teeth whitening
I tried it a looong time ago, but my teeth are so small that the strip went over my gum. I'm also terrible with being consistent and wanted to do something that would give me immediate results.

Re: teeth whitening
You can talk to your dentist about getting a prescription tooth paste that will help with the sensitivity that you can start using a couple of weeks before you have the whitening done.

Your teeth will be sensitive for a day or two but well worth it.

I had prof whitening done last year at my dentist. Dr. Ragusa on Francis Lewis Blvd in Bayside. He is amazing! Yes, my teeth were sensitive for about 2 days after the whitening. They also tell you not to eat or drink anything that can stain a white t-shirt for a day after you get the whitening done (ie no COFFEE or red wine) I dont remember how much it was, but prob around $300 or so. You also need to get a cleaning sometime before you get the whitening done. I was very pleased with the results and it has lasted quite a while even though I drink about 3-4 cups of coffee daily. FH and I plan on going again about a month before our wedding. HTH

Thanks for the recommendation! $300 is not bad at all. FH uses NYU for his dental needs and they gave some ridiculous quote for teeth whitening. I'll definitely look him up though, I want get my teeth whitened before the wedding.

Re: teeth whitening
I have done the professional whitening and it works great. The most uncomfortable part is them putting these things in your mouth to keep your cheeks and lips away from your teeth. The laser itself doesnt hurt - some people I know have experienced teeth sensitivity but its not painful to where you cannot handle it. Youre in there for a while but the place I went to turned off the lights and had a TV on so it went pretty quickly. Good luck! Lets us know how it goes.

Re: teeth whitening
I am currenttly doing bleach with the trays from my dentist. I planned on doing it before the wedding & never in a million years thought I could afford it. Then while at the dentist one day, he told me that he would make up the trays for me for FREE as a wedding gift. I was so happy. FH uses the same dentist & he has invisi-line so FH thinks because of all of the money he has spent on that, that's why I got them for free.
