Cassidy is starting to teethe and is miserable. I was looking at the Orajel swabs and it says for 4 mos and up...she's 3 1/2. Do you think they are safe to use or is there something else you can recommend??

Re: Teething remedies
I've used Hyland Teething Tablets with much success during the beginning stages of teething (when they are teething but you know the process will take a long time.)

Dont' use Hyland's teething tablets, they have bellladonna in them. My doctor said it is risky and she's rather ambesol ot tylenol. Or get a wet wash cloth and let her bite on it. I also used the feeding thing that allows you to put food it in and the baby can bite into the mesh linder and only small parts come put, I use to put crushed ice in it and let my kids chew away, it numbs their gums , but holistically.

I asked my Ped. if I could use the Orajel Swabs at the same age, thinking we were so close to 4 months it would be ok, and she suggested against it. But, she also said 'she doubts' its teething, and his 1st tooth popped through about 2 weeks later
She said to use Tylenol for the times that he seemed really uncomfortable. Check with Dr for the dosage, I have found that this chart was always right on with what they tell you the proper dosage is. Tylenol Dosage Chart
HTH
PS- Aidan never liked really cold teethers and hated the mesh feeder thingy, so in case those don't work he liked the vibrating, massaging teether, that helped him... found it at BRU
