Re: TELL ALL YOUR DC FRIENDS

I live in Germantown, MD but lived in the district for 6 years. I LOVED it. It has most of the benefits of NYC (museums, nightlife, subway, great parks and sights) but has a little more green space, less density, and a different culture than NYC (politics versus Wall Street). The one thing I don't like about it is not being close to the ocean or a sound. The Chesapeake Bay is a bit of a drive and the Potomac River is... well, brown!

I highly recommend the neighborhood of Cleveland Park! It has so much to offer! Great cafes, one of the best and last single screen movie theaters around, Rock Creek Park access, and the zoo is nearby.

Re: TELL ALL YOUR DC FRIENDS

I have lived in DC for about 11 years (Cleveland Park Area) and I now in Maryland. After I get married, I will move to Virginia. I truly love this area. I really have a lot of fun. There is a lot too do down here.

Re: TELL ALL YOUR DC FRIENDS

Sonicstef, I went to college in DC and then lived in the Maryland suburbs for a year before coming back to NY to go to law school. I had a great time in DC while I was there, but in my opinion, neither the city or the suburbs hold a candle to NYC/Long Island. I had some great experiences down there, but I'm so glad to be back in NY. FM if you want more info!
