Re: Tell me about Timeshares
I do! Price varies with where you buy, we bought in Aruba, $8,000 I think. We have it forever and we can will it to someone when we die. If we don't use it for a year we can rent out and get the money for the week or loan it to someone. We pay monthly. I love it although we haven't had it very long, it is a guaranteed vaca every year...we only bought it last October on our honeymoon and we will go to it this November. I can trade it out to any timeshare that this company uses. Ours is Interval International. Anyone I know who has it love theirs, my friend bought in Texas, where she lives and never goes to her home resort but likes to travel to other places w/it.

Same as Stacedz but our costed more.
We also have it where we can go any 2 weeks of the year, not the specific time slot they offer you.

Re: Tell me about Timeshares
We own two time shares. One of them is in Florida and the other is on Grand Bahama. They are a great thing. We paid around 10,000 for each of them for life and actually am looking to sell the one in Grand Bahama because we just really don't have the time to take two weeks of vacation! We will keep our one on Fl because FH is an avid golfer and I love Disney! If you are interested, you could FM me!

Re: Tell me about Timeshares
My parents have one in Orlando and paid like 11k for it 15 years ago. They all are priced on size range. The one my parents have sleeps 6. They also have one in Sicily and in las vegas.. They also bought into the RCI.com program for another 10k...
Check it out....

I've wondered how these work too.
Assuming you paid the $8000 up front, do you pay an annual fee, or is it a one time investment?

Re: Tell me about Timeshares
My aunt and uncle own one in CO and I have friends who own ones in places like the poconos, florida, to some of the islands.
They are really a mixed bag and whether they are good or not really depends on the individual person and the timeshare deal.
Those who have a set week or two weeks of the year are less happy than those who can go everytime. This is generally b/c something often came up (can't get off of work, someone is sick etc) and they miss out on it often.
If you get a two week time share and you only have a 2 or 3 week vacation time - you will ONLY go to your timeshare. So they felt that they HAD to go to their timeshare and not on that cruise with their friends or their trip to europe.
Finally most of them are thinking of selling their timeshares for the simple reason that after going to their timeshare for about 10 years they are tired of it and want something new.
Good luck!

Re: Tell me about Timeshares
Ontop of what we paid, I also pay a maintenance fee that I hear can go up every year. Every timeshare has maintenance fees. Forgot to say I have a 2 bedroom so we really bought it for friends to go away with us and then for kids one day.
