You could ask for a viennese hour, extra food at the cocktail hour, an extra dessert, more expensive linens, chair covers, etc.

Just say, 'Since we're paying for so many guests who won't be able to make it, is there anything you would be able to throw in to soften the blow'...
Let them answer...
Accept what they offer and then have something specific in mind that you want and say, 'thank you... that would be nice... also, what about an additional half hour to the cocktail hour? (or chocolate fountain... or whatever you want)...'
And the last sentence should be...
'Is that the best you can do for us?'

We gaunteed 170 and we called in the final count of 179, but we only are having 177 (we made a mistake). When we went to the hall last night to give them our final payment, they told us we can take the two extras home or give a guest seconds. I didn't say anything, the Banquet Manager told us.
