Okay today is FMIL's birthday and we are supposed to go over there
Last Friday FSIL had 105 fever and she was diagnosed with the flu, she had a low grade fever even yesterday. She has three kids and none of them have any symptoms as of now. I have my flu shot.
FH called FMIL to make sure that no one was sick today so I can come to dinner. FMIL said in a nice way 'If Matilde is scared of getting sick, tell her she doesn't have to come - I understand'
So, I told FH to swing by and pick up her card and he pauses and says 'wait what? you are really not going to come?'
So I laughed it off and pretended I was joking, but I wasn't. Is that criminally insane NOT to go?

ok I don't think your crazy but i understand how family can pressure you....just go for a quick hi and dont touch ur face!!!! LOL just stay away from everyone

I do not think ur crazy at all.... if you do go, just be sure not to touch anything and wash you hands. Also drink that airbourne b/4 you go and as soon as you get home.
Sit as far away from everyone as possible!!!

Tilde, you could tell me you were living in a bubble for the next 4 days and I STILL wouldn't tell you you are crazy!

under normal circumstances...yes you might be slightly crazy...but with only a short while till your wedding day...you're not crazy at all.

Your not crazy- but dotn go by me b/c i a hypocondriac...and so close to the weddig- i'd seriously stay home will all my wndows open and lysol in hand...lol

This is where I can say honestly, no you are not insane...risking getting a 105 flu with the fever. I would stay home too!!!!
I mean maybe just maybe, there are even some last minute wedding details that HAVE to be taken care of TONIGHT!!!!???

I wouldnt! If you got exposed to germs today they'd TOTALLY come out this weekend! It seems like the ideal incubation period. Plus, FMIL is practically telling you to stay away!! Stay in and stay safe!

Tilde I don't think you are crazy and I would stay away if I were you.
Keep in mind that is 65 out today -- that means the germs are just going to fester around longer (not just in your FH's house EVERYWHERE).
So keep your distance.

Just ask him if he'd rather have you not go for his Mom's bday ONE year, or would he rather you be sick and miserable on your HONEYMOON?

ok so here is an update his brother has the flu now but he is not coming but what is to say that the girls dont have it and arent showing symptoms??

And if I were FSIL or FMIL I would tell you to stay away too and be upset if you came over! I would feel terrible if I risked getting you sick for your wedding day! I'm hoping they feel the same way! I know my FMIL and FSIL's would!

Please tell him to wash his hands ALOT btwn now and the wedding....and try not to get too close to his family, if FMIL and FBIL now are sick, the germs are there, it's only a matter of time before it's his turn if he's not careful.
