Tell me what you think

Im jewish married an Italian, as did my older sister. My neice is going fro her communion soon my sister told me in December. Havent really spoken to her since the holidays, fine okay. Now I heard 3 weeks ago from my nanny that it will be in May okay fine. Still havent heard from my sister. Spoke to my nanny today and she asked me if I was invited to the party. party? what party? My neices communion is tomorrow. I was never invited.

Background info: My half-sister never speaks to my dad, who is seperated from her mother. Anyway, the nanny used to be hers and she still speaks to her from, time to time. My sister doesnt speak to anyone in my family except me and Dh. She is seperated from her husband but still sees him. This is thew same person who went from a size a to d cup I wrote about a few months ago. I am so pissed. and dont know if I should acknowledge this celabration or not, by sending my neice a gift and if so how much? I know she didnt do anything to me and she doesnt deserve for me to take it out on her but, this is just plain wrong. My Neice is very materialistc in every sense of the word. She at 8 has her own Coach Wallet NOT a fake a real one and a L. Vuitton bag all real. what can I get this child or give her that she wont put down as sad as that seems. Im just F**in pi$$ed when I found this out this morning.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about that. I understand you because my mom & her sister had not such a good relationship. They spoke and then not spoke for about 2 years. It sucked for us kids because we wee caught in the middle which is not fair. I think you should just mail her what you feel is within your means. If she puts it down then it's sad on her part. She will at least know that her aunt remembered her special day. Good luck girly!

I'm so sorry T. But honestly, I wouldn't do anything if you were not included. Obviously they felt it was unnecessary for you to be a participant in their celebration, so I would feel like my check wouldn't be either. I know you want to do the right thing by your niece but sometimes your efforts go unnoticed and unnappreciated anyway. I would call half sister and ask her why I wasn't included if it bothered me that much. Maybe it was an oversight or an error, like the invitation got lost or something. At least you would know where you stand instead of wondering why you're being treated like a leper

So sorry!!
