exercise are you getting while pg?? Are you still working out consistently? What are you doing for exercise - walking, swimming, etc?? How long and how frequent are your workouts? Did you work out alot before getting PG?
I was so good for the first 4 months or so of my pregnancy. I went to the gym 3 - 5 days per week or I walked on the treadmill at home. (I was a gym nut before the pg anyway) But I've slacked off so much in the last two months or so.... and it's really starting to show!! I'm so disappointed with myself.
I'm going to try and start walking.... what are you doing?

I was walking a lot but now I am lucky I can walk at all. Forget about the gym!

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
OMG you have to read 'The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy'. The author says no matter what you do, your body will gain xx lbs. and blow up. And that we need to relinquish all control and devote all of our energy to that growing human being inside..no small feat!! So I have officially stopped working out. I will keep doing yoga if the OB says it is OK (I have been spotting so I want to get the A-OK first). Otherwise, I will keep walking but without the weights, and no more Curves.
This is the best book I have seen on pregnancy -- not for clinical information but more 'reality' stuff your Dr. won't bother with.

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
I have gone to the gym ZERO times!!! I leave my house at 6:45 every morning and don't get home until 7:15 at night. When would I find time??? This commute is horrible! I'm so exhausted by the time I get home!

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
I said I would walk on the threadmill - not as much for weight but for exercise and breathing - figure it would help with birth. I did that exactly one time : ) . But I did walk to and from Penn Station to my office everyday. It is normally about a 12 min fast walk - by the end it took almost a half hour. So I did get some. I only gained a little over 30lbs and have lost most of it so far without exercise. My body is flabby but now that it is nice I will start taking walks to help the last few pounds.

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
My first pregnancy I walked 4-5 times a week for 30-60 minutes a time. I didn't do much for strength training.
This time I have a one-year-old so I am doing a lot of different 'workouts' and actually gaining less this time. Once the weather gets nicer, I know we will be walking to the park almost daily or just around the neighborhood and doing other fun things toddlers love to do.

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
I was the same way - at the beginning I was working out 4 -5 times a week...then the last couple of months I'm lucky if I get in one day of pilates and one day of treadmill/weights. However, given my recent weight gain, it has motivated me to try to stay in shape for the last 12 weeks. I am so happy ts nice out again as that definitely motivates me!

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
Well when I was pregnant, I worked in retail so I had to constantly go up and down to get shoes. that was my exercise in itself, and thank god that I was so active since it helped me to have such a great labor and delivery.

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
Before I was pregnant, I was in the gym at least 4 times a week. As soon as I got pregnant, O times a week. The only think that I do at home is my arms with my 6 pound dumbbells and 15 pound body bar.

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
I try to walk as much as possible, but I never have time for the gym. Besides, I never went prior to my pregnancy, so it probably would've been too overwhelming for me physically to start going.

I walk back and forth to the refrigerator....
Actually, I also walk up and down 3 flights of stairs about 3 times a day, every day....

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
I was not a big exercise person to begin with and really slacked off after the wedding. Since I have been pregnant I have been trying to go back to Curves. I am overweight to begin with so controlling my weight gain is an important part of my pregnancy. I am hoping now that I am in the 2nd trimester and i seem to be feeling much better that I will go on a more regular basis than I have been. So far at 16 weeks I am up 5 pounds so I am not doing too bad I guess but I wish it was 0.

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
Well, I'm only 11 weeks so I don't know how I will feel later in the pregnancy, but I used to do the treadmill 5-6 days a week for an hour a day. Now I'm doing it about 4 days a week and thats a struggle. I've had to slow down my pace a lot as its getting harder to breath!

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
I went to Curves thru my 7th months..but skipped the machines that effected my stomach, of course. I had bad leg nerve problems from 10weeks on...but I knew I had to move each day. I did walk too, but not often because of the pain it caused me.

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
The only exercise I get (like Denise) is walking to and from Penn Station to my job. It is a 2 mile walk each way. So I am averaging about 4 miles a day! I love it! I am getting a little slower, but I am going to do it for as long as I can.
I am 28 weeks and I have gained about 24 lbs so far... I also eat really bad. I crave junk food and fast food! :(

Re: Tell the truth -- how much
actually I worked out more pregnant then I do now when I was pregnant I still had a personal trainer so it 'forced' me to go to the gym to show up for my sessions, now I am lucky if I go once a week lol
but when pregnant I went consistently b/c I didnt want to gain too much
