I love my story ! Sorry if its long! it took place over two days!

when: March 23,2005
where: on a rock climbing wall

Our anniv. is March 22 but FI said that he got 'show tickets' for March 23rd. I told him we should just go out for dinner and the show on the 23rd and he agreed.

Well, guess who shows up at my job March 22nd with a stretch limo in front of my building?!?!?
I was going to die! I was totally not dressed, my hair looked like crap and all i could think was ' omg, is this the night?'

well, thankfully it wasnt! He totally had me thinking he was going to propose every time we made a surprise stop( the place he told me loved me, times square etc)
We ended our amazing night and he said to dress comfortably for tomorrow night.

Well, the next day, he picks me from work dressed in sweats and a hoodie and i was completely thrown for a loop.

Still unaware of where we were going, we finally ended up at Chelsea piers. I thought maybe we were going to get spa treatments.Well, no.

We walked through the gym and straight to the back by the rock climbing wall and he yells ' surprise! I got us rock climbing lessons' ( b/c i had once mentioned that we should go rock climbing together) I was excited but in my mind i was thinking, ok tonight is not the night. chalk it up to one hell of an anniversary celebration.

well, at the very end of our session he says that we should climb the rock together so that we can take pics of eachother.
Not thinking anything, we climb together, he then pulls out ....a camera! takes a pic and then goes back into his pocket and pulls out a ring box and proposes to me while we are suspended in the air together.
It was the best night of my life and somehow he dropped the camera to the guys below who captured everything.

Sorry so long but it was the greatest thing that ever happened to me..

Where: Rockerfeller Center

We went to a Devils game so I did not think anything. On the way home, he said lets get something to eat. Since we were leavingJersey he said, 'Lets go into the City' We ended up by Rockerfeller Center. While we were walking by we saw 'The Top of the Rock' so he said 'Lets check it out' we went up and to his surprise there was a marathon going on!! We went back down by the ice rink and i sat down, when I turned around he had the ring out and asked me to marry him! I was shocked since I was starving at this point I wasnt even thinking of anything else and was totally shocked.........

I love this topic. Its so sweet.

When: July 15, 2005
Where: His front porch.

Okay, I must start by saying, I am a bit of a brat and I make my FI and his mother acknowledge my 1/2 birthday (my BDay is Jan. 15, so my 1/2 BDay is July 15th) and he always acknowledges it and his mom usually makes me a cake and buys me a gift. (She has 3 boys and I am like the daughter she never had, so they all spoil me). Anyway, I was upset bc nobody acknowledged my 1/2 birthday last year, like they all forgot. After shopping until like 10:00 with my FI's brother's GF, we ate pizza and I was bummed nobody said anything. Then, my FI told me to go wait outside on the porch. I said 'no, I'm going to go outside and then you are going to call me back inside and my cake will be there and everyone will say 'see we didn't forget you''. So, I went outside. At this point, I felt embarrased bc I was 25 and acting like a baby.

Well...

He comes outside with a single red rose. My heart dropped and I thought I was going to die. I was thinking to myself, no way. He sat next to me and sang (I always ask him to sing to me) 'will you marry me'. The ring was thread through the stem of the rose and rested on one of its leaves. I was in shock. all I could say was, 'are you serious, are you kidding me' over and over. Until he said, well.... I was so surprised.

BTW, Phil replicated the way my dad proposed to my mom, which made it all the more special to me bc I am extremely close to my parents. He asked my dad how he proposed to my mom when he went to my parents' to ask for their blessing. It was the most amazing moment. My heart is racing just reliving that night!!!!

Date: December 13, 2003
Where: EAB Plaza in Uniondale, under the big christmas tree.

We went to Jones Beach to see the lights and had such a good time. We were singing christmas songs and acting goofy. On the way home he had this brillant idea to go to the tree at the EAB Plaza.

I didn't have a coat and I wa freezing! He ran back to his car to get something. i was so cold and so ticked that he made me wait outside for him. We walked to a less crowded side of the tree and he pulled out the ring box. He didn't even have to ask. I just said yes... suddenyl I wans't cold anymore.

date: 12-2-05 (ironically 363 days after i caught the bouquet at his best friends wedding - they were on their first anniversary weekend!)

mines long so ill grace you all with the short version..

we met upstate in new paltz where we went to school. so we go up there a few times a year to reminisce, no big deal since its fairly close. so on a tuesday he asked me if i wanted to go up there for the weekend, so i was like sure. we were together for almost 6 years at that point so whenever we went ANYWHERE i thought it could be THE time. so anyway he did just about everything to disuade me from thinking it.. we left like an hour later than planned, we deceided where to go to dinner by flipping a coin....
so anyway we get up there and go to dinner. just as we are leaving dinner it starts lightly snowing the first snow of the season!! so he says, lets take a drive around campus (another thing that we do often). so we drove around the long way and reminisced as we passed by everything. then he pulls up behind our old dorm and parks. so i say 'hey this is the first place you said told me you loved me.' so he pulls out a piece of paper and tells me to read it (at which point i get nervous cause when he told me he loved me the first time it was in a poem).. so i start reading out loud and i can barely get through it im messing up the words trying to peak to the bottom. i manage to make it to the bottom and there is an elipse... at which point he gets out of the car and comes around to my side, opens the door and gets down on his knee and asked. i cried so loud for about 3 minutes i couldnt even answer him. finally i was able to say (what he consideres to be) my famous response 'ive dreamed of this moment so many times but i never thought it could be this good.'
anyway by the time he got back in the car after i said yes and we kissed and what not, the snow was coming down in big huge flakes. its cheesy but formy entire life ive believed that it only snows when im in love. so mother nature definitely kicked it up a notch that night!!
the story still makes me tingle!

Where: Dun Aengus, Inis Mor (Aran Islands, Ireland)

FH and I went to Ireland for a week, and on our second day there we took a ferry from Rossaveal (near Galway) to the Aran Islands. I've been to Ireland once before with my brother and his girlfriend, and I made this trip by myself, and it was the most wonderful part of my vacation, so I really wanted FH to see it. We rented bikes at the ferry drop off and rode about 7 miles to Dun Aengus. It's a historical site considered either an ancient fort or a theatre. Either way, it's on top of a 300 foot cliff that you can walk right up to and sit on the edge. The trek wasn't without trials - the day started out rainy and cold, and FH got a flat tire on his bike half way through which made the ALL UPHILL ride even worse - some spots were so steep we had to get off our bikes and walk! So by the time we get to the base of the fort we're both sweating and miserable. Finally we walk up to the top of this hill where the fort and cliffs are and the sun comes out and it's beautiful and warm. We're sitting in this perfect spot on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the ocean when he takes out a box and says 'It's not what you think, so don't get excited' such a sweetheart, right? So I open it and it's a claddagh ring that he's giving me for Valentine's Day - he wanted to save it for the trip since it's of Irish origin. Then that's it - for 40 minutes we just sit there, and NOTHING. So I'm thinking, what a jerk - why would he bring me to this perfect spot, give me a ring, but not an engagement ring? That's not like him. Suddenly he goes into the meaning of the claddagh ring and how it stands for love, friendship and loyalty and that he wants to share that with me forever. Then, at least from what he tells me because I barely remember anything, he got on his knee and took out another ring box and asked me to marry him. I didn't think I'd cry, but I was overwhelmed. It was such a beautiful moment, and as it turns out, he intended to follow the claddagh ring immediately with the engagement ring, but at that point people were literally climbing over us to take pictures of the view, and he wanted it to be a private moment. Too funny.

As a side, the Aran Islands only have about 1,000 inhabitants and isn't the most developed area, so we celebrated with a Guinness instead of the traditional champagne - but I'd say that's more us

My FH planned for a week with a local bar that does Kareoke on Friday nights. He gave the DJ a pic of us in a frame so that when I arrived with him he would know who we were.
He had all our friends and some family come too. He likes to sing so he signed up to sing My First My Last My Everything by Barry White...After he finished the dJ made an announcement and brought me up to sit in a chair. FH started a speech then pulled out a velvet long stemmed rose 'ring' box and popped the question. I got it all on audio from the DJ and many pics!!!! It was perfect! When I got back to our table there was champagne and our framed pic!

Where: Royal Carribean Cruise Ship

Well we had planned a cruise ship to the Bahamas in October 05 with 13 of our friends....so just right after new years I was so excited about going on our trip

we flew into Miami and from there we took the cruise liner (majesty of the Seas)....we were starving so we had lunch on the boat since our rooms were going to be ready in an hour....we decided to go to the outdoor bar on the top deck...we were all in bathing suits and drinking our cocktails and frozen drinks...so then FH tells me he wants to go walk around on the boat.....so i said lets go...took my drink and my camera and we walked to the front of the boat.... There was no one there.....There was a walk climbing wall so we decided to take a fake pic of me climbing it (AGAIN THAT IS HOW I GOT THE NAME CAMERAKRAZIE) so i went to take a look at my digital camera to see how it came out when he pulled my waist closer to his and whispered into my ear that he had something to tell me....At that point I thought he was just drunk from the drinking...Anywayz he leaned in and said that he loved me and that he had something to ask me...He went down on one knee and asked me to marry him....I believed i ruined the momen by cursing for like 2 minutes but then he asked well do you? so i said yes and I put on my beautiful ring.....It was great!!!!!

HOW IT HAPPENED

I went to get my nails done at my Aunt's salon. Mike came with me since we were going out for dinner right afterwards. After the appointment, we were sitting in the car and he handed me an oversized card (asking if my nails were dry enough first). In the card - he spoke of everything we have been through and at the end, there was a red ribbon attached to the card. Next to it - he wrote - 'Anything with a red ribbon on it belongs to you tonight'. So silly me asked if I should be looking for something. He told me that there was something in the car for me...but I had to find it. So I went for the glove compartment - but it was locked. So he told me to get out my set of keys to open it. By the time I got the keys out - my hands were shaking so I had to have him help me. Inside the glove compartment was a white box wrapped with a red ribbon. Mike helped to open the box and inside was a gorgeous wooden jewelry box. He opened the inside box for me and said 'very simply...will you marry me?' Of course I said YES!! After showing the girls in the salon my new ring, we went back to his house. To my surprise, my entire family and our two best friends were there waiting for us to celebrate our engagement....

I'm pretty sure Vinny didn't realize it at the time, but December 10th was a rough day for me. I had just finished my last day of student teaching and was upset over leaving the students that I had been working with all fall. I also had a HORRIBLE meeting with my student teaching supervisor. Ugh... So, to top it off I had an eye doctor appt. that day- which last minute I had to drive myself to. NOT a good idea.. So, fast forward to the rainy, cold, dreary night. Vinny called me and told me to come over and we would go to Rob & Leslie's house (Vinny's uncle & his wife who we are extremely close with and spend a lot of time with). So I showered, threw on my usual GAP fleece & sweatpants and headed over to Vinny's.. When I got there, I saw him sitting on his couch and was relieved to see he was showered and dressed already. When I got to the door however I didn't see Vinny, the lights were now off, and I saw what I thought was a small fire on the floor. I freaked out and threw the door open thinking that Vin's brother Joe had tried to melt something for an art class he was taking.. When I opened the door I saw candles on the floor in the shape of a heart surrounded by pictures of us from different times in our relationship, a bouquet of daisies (only the 2nd time in our 4 year relationship that Vin got me flowers) and one red rose, and a teddy bear from Build a Bear with a Yankees t-shirt on.... At that point in time my stomach fell and I tried to convince myself this wasn't happening.. Vinny finally came out of his bedroom into the living room and said something about reading a note, and I said 'what note' and he pointed to a piece of paper on the floor that said 'Press my paw'. So I squeezed the bears paw and I heard a recording of Vinny's voice saying 'will you marry me?' I do NOT remember what was said or done from that point forward..I remember hugging him and saying thank you and his reply being 'I just wish your mom was here to see this. But I know she is here with us and smiling'. (How great is he?) All I remember is bawling hysterically the entire time and being totally surprised.

When: 3/6/05 at sunset
Where: en route from St. Thomas to St. Marteen on a cruise

FH had gone missing for about an hour or so, so my friends and i sat on the upper deck of the ship and watched us launch and the surroundings. We were recounting the day and jus relaxing. I then get up to go to the bar to get a drink and I see FH running at me (somewhat dressed up) - we had been at the beach all day so I had my hair in a bun, no makep, sunglasses, and a sundress and bikini on... not what i thougth i'd look like at the moment i got engaged. So, anyway, he comes running up to me and says kind of frantically I NEED TO TALK TO YOU. So, i'm like okay but let me get my drink first... classy...

So he walks me to the front of the ship which is empty. He tells me that he loves me and doesnt want to rush anything and wants to wait until its the perfect time to get engaged. (I had been talking about getting engaged for months - almost pressuring him). He then gets on his knee and says I think it's perfect now. Will you spend the rest of eternity with me? I was sobbing from the minute we walked up to the head of the ship...

When: 8-15-05 @ 10pm
Where: First night in the Bahamas

We didn't get to the resort until 8pm and our dinner reservations were at 9pm During dinner he was super quiet and sweating. I just thought he was tired from the flight. So after dinner he insisted on taking a walk on the beach. I actually just wanted to go in the pool. But FI insisted we take a walk. It was beautiful out and very romantic. So we walk to the beach chairs and he tells me to close my eyes b/c he had a surprise for me. Now I am thinking to myself...'could this really be it??' When I opened my eyes he was kneeling down in the sand w/ the ring box open. And that is when he asked me to marry him. It was perfect!

I will never forget it.

The Date: March 25, 2005 (Good Friday)
The Place: The CN Tower, Toronto CA

A simple weekend trip to Toronto. Andrew planned dinner at the CN Tower, the tallest building in Toronto. It is a rotating resturant in the middle of the city. Andrew and i went to canada to spend the weekend there for my spring break and to also get away from all the stress build up we both accumulated from work and school. We had dinner at the CN tower (for those of you who doesnt know what that is-- its the tallest tower in toronto overlooking the city and it has the glass floor where you can see the very bottom of the tower). the manager gave us a table by the window and it was really weird how the floor was rotating. i was afraid to fall coz i had heels on and it would've been so embarassing if i fall flat on my face. Our maitre'd gave us our menu. the message 'Pamela, will you Marry me??' was in front of the menu as soon as you open it, but of course for all of you that know me, what im about to write won't come as a surprise.. I happen to flip on the last page of the menu first and read the whole page. Andrew's face caught my attention because he really looked tense and he had that look as if he was about to tell me something. I kept asking him if he was ok because he looked like something was bothering him and I was about to close the menu and ask him what was up-- well good thing i didnt. So, anyway.. finally, i flipped on the front page where the note was BUT.. i, still did not see the message that was printed in 16 font bold lettering in FRONT of me! i was so concentrated on the menu itself. so finally, i saw my name and was about to tell andrew, 'hey honey!! look! someone has the same name as me!!' and then finally i saw it. It was really an undescribable feeling. i was really surprised!! after andrew saw my reaction to the note he knelt down on one knee asked me to marry him holding up to me the ring. after i said yes, my tears was nonstop streaming down my cheeks. we both were on the phone calling our families-- only to find out that my family already knew beforehand that this was going to happen. Andrew had consulted with my family first. The whole weekend was full of surprises for me. the manager of the restaurant and the whole staff was very helpful in making our special event happen. it was a perfect day, perfect weekend for both Andrew and I. I felt like i was in cloud 9 the whole time.

My FH were going to a wedding(out of town) I had a dress with me when i boarded the plane i asked the steward if there was anyplace to hang my dress.. he said no .. i then proceeded to my seat annoyed that i had to put my dress in the overhead compartment... FH tells me dont worrry i will buy you a iron okay whatever i was annoyed he leaves to go to the bathroom... over the intercom (whatever u call it) throughout the plane they call my name.. to go to the front of the plane Oh great they found somewhere to hang my dress i get my dress walk to the front of the plane ... then he grabs the microphone and starts speaking to me.... He proposed on the plane in front of all those people it was so sweet but i swear i thought i was going to pass out with that stupid F*&^% dress in my hand !

HORRIBLE STORY!!!

So my FH decided to recreate our first date. We went to this italian restaurant, which after the first date I was so note impressed.
Anyway, we went and ordered and he was acting weird so I kind of sensed something was up.
So we ate, and he kept saying lets go to the beach after and take a walk. At dinner I was game for it. DInner was fine, food was ok nothing to rave about, but whatever.
Paolo went to get the car from valet, and all of a sudden I got so neuseas. My tummy began to turn and turn.
I got in teh and told paolo to take me home now.
He insisted on going to the beach...I made him stop and get gingerale for me.
We get to the beach and he said he go me gift. I was still begging him to take me home!! I got excited, and sure enough he handed me a puma box...with sneakers in it.
Needless to say, the ring was hidden in the shoes and he proposed. I said yes, and he finally took me home....mind you its been only 25 minutes since we left the restaurant.
I got home 5 minutes later, woke my mother, took the ring off, ran to the bathroom, and threw my guts up. After i threw up twice, I felt 1000 times better.
Long story short I got food poisoning on my engagement night. SO our story is dinner, me screaming get me home now, proposal, more screaming get me home now, then engagment bliss.........
