actually I may have posted in that thread, my fsil told us that she didn't want women wearing black to her wedding. The BP did not wear black she just thought it was bad luck or something like that.

Re: Telling guests what to wear
It's one thing to spread this via word of mouth and request that people don't wear black. I just can't believe that it was put into a formal invitation.

Wow! Definitely a ballsy move...I wouldn't be surprised if guests didn't show because of it.

I'm blown away by that one! I don't think I've ever not worn black to a wedding.

Re: Telling guests what to wear
That is soo wrong to do that!! How can u ask someone not to wear black!? Are they going to pay for a new dress too.. cause that's about the only color dresses in my closet (wedding like) I don't know about other people.

I don't know. I went to my friend's wedding November in San Antonio and there were girls wearing denim jackets and stuff like that. Granted it was a morning/early afternoon wedding but I think that's crazy so maybe specifying black tie would get people to realize what should not be worn?

Re: Telling guests what to wear
I think its kind of rude, especially to included it in the invitation like that...A lot of people just have the little black dresses and it is asking someone to go out and buy a new dress... Everyone invited to my wedding is not rich!
