but in june i have a wedding where the bride is making it black tie required-- no, not optional-- REQUIRED... i mean, it's not at the palace at versailles for god sake!!! it's the watermill-- very pretty don't get me wrong but black tie REQUIRED??

hmmm, am i the only one here who thinks that's a little much too?!!

I don't know. I went to my friend's wedding November in San Antonio and there were girls wearing denim jackets and stuff like that. Granted it was a morning/early afternoon wedding but I think that's crazy so maybe specifying black tie would get people to realize what should not be worn?

yeah well that's out of state for you-- i went to a wedding in PA and people were in shorts and a tee-shirt lol... but i mean, this girl is from LI and her whole family is from LI and her father's side is not wealthy BY ANY MEANS so to require something like that just seemed crazy to me and not fair to those people... i mean, if you want to ensure people dress more sophisticated then black tie optional is a common way to go but i had never heard of required-- thanks for the flashback to the PA wedding with that Texas story!! That was something else LOL

OMG! I saw that yesterday!! That is unbelievable!! Talk about Bridezillaish!!!!

I think I would die also if I couldn't wear black to a wedding!!!!

whoa! I mean should the women not wear their hair up because the BM's have them up? Thats a little too much if you ask me... I dont care go ahead wear pink dude- I honestly dont care if you wear white- just dont wear a wedding dress!!
