Teri's post got me thinking....

How did you meet FH/FW?

The reason Teri's post made me think of this is b/c FH and I were actually set up on a blind date by our mothers! Yes it's true. So when Teri said her mother and FH's mother were meeting for the first time, it made me laugh, b/c my mom and FMIL were friends before I even knew FH.

Long story short:

I had broken up with my boyfriend at the time, FH broke up with his girlfriend. My mom and FMIL worked together and decided to get nosey and involved. They exchanged pictures of us and phone numbers for FH and I to speak. We both figured we'd patronize them and just go on the date, never expecting anything of it.

After seeing a pic of FH and he saw my pic, he called me like a week later. Then after another week, we met at TGI Friday's in Rockville Center. He hated me, I had a great time

Now here we are 9 years later

Guess mom really does know best

funny story....

FI hit on me at the Foggy Goggle (in hampton bays) when I was 21, (5 almost 6 years ago)... we talked exchanged #'s never spoke.....

next summer I was at Beach Bar FI hits on me again. I didn't remember it was him at first then we did after a while had a laugh said we'd talk never did....

2 summers later I was back at Beach Bar and I saw him, I went up to him and said Hey... I was a total b*tch at first playing hard to get and then we were chatting again... same ol'... only this time he called me the next day,

I know it sounds bad but I honestly think it was fate all those previous summers I was still away at school upstate and it wouldn't have worked. The third time we met I gradutated and was home for good and we have been together ever since that night.

Not intentionally on eharmony or match (not that there is anything wrong with them). We met on good old myspace lol.

He messaged me and i figured it was just another annoying guy being stupid but i read it anyway and he seemed like a normal person who was intelligent enough to hold a conversation with. We emailed back and forth for about a week before talking on the phone for like 10 hours one night lol. turns out we live 5 minutes from each other, went to HS's in the same district, and went to the same college.
So i ended up meeting him with his friends (guys and girls) at a bar and set up a date for the following night.

Our myspace messages were so long and cute that for v-day 2 years ago i made a scrapbook with all of them in it.

the very first time i saw FH was the night of my sweet 16. i went out with some friends after the party to play pool & saw FH but never met him because my brother forced me & my friends to go home.

then on valentines day (2000) a friend of mine came to my house with FH & another friend. the other friend brought me flowers & i kept commenting that i liked his jacket. then FH blurted out that he let the friend borrow his jacket so we would look better. long story short we started dating a month later.

We met on myspace, which I've seen in past topics like this is a lot more common than I had thought.... I'm glad we did, I'm way to shy in person to just go talk to someone so it worked out....

wed crossed each others paths all the way since we were 7 and 12 ( i cheered for sachem youth and he played football, we're like right next to each other in the yearbook for our team photos) and then in college, he was friends w/guys from a frat at my college n my sorority always hung out w/that frat (cuz Carl didnt go to my college) so we were always at the same parties, etc, school events, but never actually met...

he saw me perform at talent show n when i was on stage told his friend 'i gotta meet her, im gonna marry her!' n then 2 months later, my sorority sister who was dating his friend from the frat were at his house...and she was BEGGING me to come over n keep her busy cuz she was bored lol

i refused for about an hour until my mom basically PUSHED me out the door...i got there at 230, said id only be there 2 hours tops...turns out i was there til 10:30 and didnt wanna leave!!!

the second i saw him when i got there i was like 'MmMm MmMm Good!' LOL but he was so shy he ignored me the whole day til i put him against the wall n kissed him HEHE then he talked to me, asked me on a date before i left, and thats that!

We met through mutual friends while on Thanksgiving break from college. His best friend and my best friend, who were dating (they are now engaged too!), all went to the same college as FH, and my friend invited me out and we all went out in Huntington to some bars. Little did I know they were trying to set us up! The rest is history.

I met FH the night my bff Johnny wanted to go out and I didn't. I had no jeans clean, so I had to wear a skirt, it was cold, and it was thursday. Johnny's friend was DJing that night at a lounge near by so I got dragged there. So heres me in a mini skirt, those furry boots and a thermal ( such a sizzle $lut) and dying to go home. It was dead! Noone was there but some people on dates. Johnny went to go talk to his friend at the bar and left me by myself near the dance floor. And there was FH. Standing next to the DJ booth. Apparently he was friends with the DJ too. I was like 'Oh man this guy is staring at me b/c he thinks I'm $lut in my retarded outfit, but god he's freakin cute'. So I break free of my stance by the dance floor and go to the bar and ask Johnny who he was. Johnny looked over and was like 'oh thats my boy...' well I've never seen this friend before??? So I was like 'dude he's cute' and Johnny was like 'ok, I'll be right back'. I wanted to kill Johnny when He went there and started to chat him up. I literally threw back my entire drink and walked over to join the convo, and Johnny introduced me to him and the first thing he asked was 'what clubs do you go to?' What clubs do I go to? Are you serious I thought. It turned out he didn't know what to say to me. And that was all he could say. We exchanged numbers and we departed, I beat Johnny up for bringing me there looking like a sizzle $lut. I hadn't had an interest in making a guy my boyfriend until I met FH. The last boyfriend I had before FH was a year before, and I was just whatever about guys. I knew I was going to marry FH when we first kissed. Something happened inside and I fluttered away...And tada, I blame Johnny for this engagement.

Jackie used to work with my old roommate from the mid 90's. she came to my apartment when she was 17 years old... and i met her then. we 'shared a few moments' that night, but then i never saw her again. however, one of her good friends was dating my best friend, and Lisa would always seem to tell me things about Jackie. when Jackie got a new car... i knew about it. it was weird. i always got the feel that Lisa wanted us together... but we were both dating other people.

in 2006, Lisa threw a surprise party for my best friend Brian at Mulcahy's. Jackie was there, and obviously so was I. We started talking.. .and it just went from there.
