Teri's post got me thinking....

We met at the Riverhead track. Me, my mom, and my sister went for the 4th of July race because they do the fireworks that night and we weren't doing anything. One of the guys (Glenn) that works on Daryn's car was good friends with my dad (my dad passed away in 2001) and another good friend of my dads (Mikey) just goes to Riverhead every week and hangs out there with Glenn. We were hanging out by FH's car talking to Mikey and Glenn, so FH came over and started talking to us. He was pretty much just making jokes about being deaf, which were hysterical. Then two weeks later Mikey came over and said that FH wanted to take me on a date, which I laughed about and said no. Then another two weeks later Mikey came over asking if he could at least give FH my number so he can talk to me, so I finally said yes. So he started text messaging me, which I couldn’t understand the first couple of messages because he doesn’t spell properly and it barely made any sense, and then I finally agreed to go out with him.

We would just hang out for a couple of hours during the week, because he had racing on Saturdays. .

Jackie used to work with my old roommate from the mid 90's. she came to my apartment when she was 17 years old... and i met her then. we 'shared a few moments' that night, but then i never saw her again. however, one of her good friends was dating my best friend, and Lisa would always seem to tell me things about Jackie. when Jackie got a new car... i knew about it. it was weird. i always got the feel that Lisa wanted us together... but we were both dating other people.

in 2006, Lisa threw a surprise party for my best friend Brian at Mulcahy's. Jackie was there, and obviously so was I. We started talking.. .and it just went from there.

the second i saw him when i got there i was like 'MmMm MmMm Good!' LOL but he was so shy he ignored me the whole day til i put him against the wall n kissed him HEHE then he talked to me, asked me on a date before i left, and thats that!

How did you meet FH/FW?

The reason Teri's post made me think of this is b/c FH and I were actually set up on a blind date by our mothers! Yes it's true. So when Teri said her mother and FH's mother were meeting for the first time, it made me laugh, b/c my mom and FMIL were friends before I even knew FH.

Long story short:

I had broken up with my boyfriend at the time, FH broke up with his girlfriend. My mom and FMIL worked together and decided to get nosey and involved. They exchanged pictures of us and phone numbers for FH and I to speak. We both figured we'd patronize them and just go on the date, never expecting anything of it.

After seeing a pic of FH and he saw my pic, he called me like a week later. Then after another week, we met at TGI Friday's in Rockville Center. He hated me, I had a great time

Now here we are 9 years later

Guess mom really does know best

That is such a great story!!!!

We met at college...I was dating someone else at the time...We went on a college student government retreat together a few weeks after i got to know him, i was teh vice pres of the theatre company and he was the general manager of the radio station (we were only acquinatances then, hung out in my office and the radio station together with all of our friends...even though I thought he was super cute and definately out of my league)
Long story short, one night during the retreat i had my first tequila experience and it didnt turn out well...I had to go back to my room for something so i left the door ajar just in case any of our firends wanted to walk in too and I guess i took a long time bc he came looking for me to make sure I was ok. Well he walked over to me, made sure i was ok, gave me a hug and i sorta stumbled into him...He left me for a minute, came back with his room key, kicked everyone out of his room that was hanging out in there, and helped me get changed into my pj's (i was DRUNK). He helped me get into bed and made sure I had water and a garbage pail near by, then he got ready for bed and layed down with me to make sure i fell asleep ok before he went back to his room. Well I guess he fell asleep too bc next thing i know its the middle of the night and there was touching going on lol next night I stayed in his room
After that we hung out everyday for couple of weeks, and then a few weeks after we started hanging out he goes to me 'Oh by the way, January 24th is our anniversary, k?'

eta: the day after we got back from the retreat i broke up with my then boyfriend...shawn made me realize i could do better than what i had

I was involved with someone for almost four years we lived together as well. we decided it wasnt working anymore and that i was going to be moving out with my friends. The night that was decided my friends wanted me to go out with them so i wouldnt be alone. So they pick me up but forgot to tell me they wouldnt be driving a friend of theres would be. Got in the car and said thanks for picking me up. Got no response. I was like what a D*ck!!!!!
Got out of the car with the girls ignoring the driver went straight into the club. Sure enough the driver comes up behind us at the bar I turn around to see him for the first time (all i saw was his head while he was driving) we locked eyes. I was like man this guy is freakin HOT!!! lol
I guess he thought the same thing too.
We hung out till 3am
That was almost 5 1/2 years ago

I met FH the night my bff Johnny wanted to go out and I didn't. I had no jeans clean, so I had to wear a skirt, it was cold, and it was thursday. Johnny's friend was DJing that night at a lounge near by so I got dragged there. So heres me in a mini skirt, those furry boots and a thermal ( such a sizzle $lut) and dying to go home. It was dead! Noone was there but some people on dates. Johnny went to go talk to his friend at the bar and left me by myself near the dance floor. And there was FH. Standing next to the DJ booth. Apparently he was friends with the DJ too. I was like 'Oh man this guy is staring at me b/c he thinks I'm $lut in my retarded outfit, but god he's freakin cute'. So I break free of my stance by the dance floor and go to the bar and ask Johnny who he was. Johnny looked over and was like 'oh thats my boy...' well I've never seen this friend before??? So I was like 'dude he's cute' and Johnny was like 'ok, I'll be right back'. I wanted to kill Johnny when He went there and started to chat him up. I literally threw back my entire drink and walked over to join the convo, and Johnny introduced me to him and the first thing he asked was 'what clubs do you go to?' What clubs do I go to? Are you serious I thought. It turned out he didn't know what to say to me. And that was all he could say. We exchanged numbers and we departed, I beat Johnny up for bringing me there looking like a sizzle $lut. I hadn't had an interest in making a guy my boyfriend until I met FH. The last boyfriend I had before FH was a year before, and I was just whatever about guys. I knew I was going to marry FH when we first kissed. Something happened inside and I fluttered away...And tada, I blame Johnny for this engagement.

Almost 8 years ago we wet met working at the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art)! We were both working in visitor services and one day we got put on the same register station. We had been flirting for a little while but that day he asked me for my number and we have been together ever since.

You wanna know something funny? My videographer is doing a love story for the recep, which is basically the how we met story and play it on the big screens. Well, we are going to need to edit for content lol. My family is going think I'm a sizzle $lut and a drunk lol. I'm gonna stand in the middle of the dance floor and scream 'I Blaameee Youuuu Johnnnnyyyyy!' lol.

We met on match dot com... we both were tired of meeting people at the bar or whatever so we both signed up for it. He has about to cancel his membership and decided to finally email me after having saved me on his favorties for a while. He emailed, we chatted on aim, talked on the phone for a while and decided to meet up. We did and the rest is history.

I had never met or spoken to anyone on the site besides FH. I immediately canceled my membership when I got home from the first date.
