Re: terrace on the park..
i went to a wedding there last year..just some things i noticed while there..she got married on the roof and it was windy, cold and you couldn't hear anything that was being said..then we were in that beautiful room with all windows but it was pitch black out and you couldn't see anything..outside on the roof was nice at night but the way the room faces you don't see any skyline or anything unless you go out on the roof to the other side..JMO

Re: terrace on the park..
This place was a serious contender for me since my FH and i had our first kiss on there dance floor. so when we got engaged i looked there. i loved it really i did. i did not like the decor in the chapel and i did not like the idea of the CH and reception being in the same room just separate parts of the room even though the veiw was spectacular. i got a great price too. Friday nights are cheaper there and i was in the winter too. so it was like 80$pp. I wish i had enough people to fit the big room though that is what i really wanted. i think you need at least 250+ to get the huge room.good luck.

Re: terrace on the park..
I went looking there for my wedding. I was not impressed with their customer service, or lack there of. They do not take appts, so I walked in, receptionist sent me downstairs where another girl took my info and went to get the banquet manager. The guy came out, very nice at first. Sat down, asked out date, time of day and guest count. The next question was our ethnicity. Then said 'Oh we'll do this and this...' rambling and scribbling down some stuff. Told me they don't give out folders of menus, it's all customized. Scribbles down $90/pp (for a Fri in July 06) and hands me a copy of the paper (like 4'x8') and sends me up to the receptionist to see the room. He didn't even take me to see the rooms. The receptionist showed me one room on the main floor over looking the walkway
. Then up the elevator to another nice room, pet peeve here, if you don't take appts to show your facility, at least have the vent or air on. It was SO darn stuffy upstairs. The room was nice, I liked how it stepped down to the dance floor. The view...eeh, not the Manhattan side. When we walked out, another banquet mgr was there, I asked him (not the same guy as the first one) if I could see the other rooms on the floor, he said 'no, they are booked for your date' Hmmm, how'd he know if he didn't know my date...whatever. So out the door I want and moved on. They call me about every 2 weeks and leave a message. Have not had the time to call them back. So, it's not a bad place, just wasn't thrilled with the customer service, which is a BIG deal to me.

MsKitty1274Wow I got bad customer service on the phone..disinterested and very curt. I was quoted 95pp and up for a saturday. I agree it is a nice place. The view is really nice though based on a friend's wedding pictures.

Re: terrace on the park..
I just went to a friend's wedding there in May. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a great time- but, I'll tell you what I didn't like..- we got there, and it seemed as though they are several other affairs going on at the same time.. we walked in, and were confused immediately as to where to go
- they sent all the guests to a holding area- before the ceremony.. this was fine, but then the ceremony was all the way downstairs, it was a long walk.. and again- seemed unorganized
- the ceremony room was really nice- and had a lot of room.
- then after the ceremony, we were shuffled out to the cocktail area (original holding area)
- For the reception- we went upstairs- and this again was confusing.. we all went up in separate elevators- and not is the most orderly fashion
All in all it was a great wedding- although, I would definitely get into specifics if you meet with someoen there-- you want to make sure your day runs smoothly- and guests are not confused. I woudl run through all of the options as far as ceremony rooms, cocktail hour, etc.

that is ridic!!
But, I will give T on the P the benefit of the doubt-- jewish weddings are typically held at the reception site- and the ceremony requires a chuppah, etc. that some venues may supply something bare bones.. BUT, let the customer ask those questions and offer up that info!

Re: terrace on the park..
Nice place, beautiful view. Last Oct they quoted us $100pp (plus tax and gratuity) for Sat night this July.I was a little put off by the BM. When we asked about a tasting, he sounded offended. He was like the place speaks for it's self and the chef would be insulted for people to 'taste' his food.

I got asked the same question but he really meant it in terms of what food we would like or specitalty items like liquor and stuff. I did not take offense to it at all. I hope that was the way he ment it when he spoke to you otherwise i would be pissed myself. But that wasnt the only place i got asked this question. In fact out of the 15 places i went to at least half of them asked me this. FYI and i am a mut Irish, Italian and German. and my Fh is Columbian and Castillian(From Spain). It made a difference in some food choices thats all.

Re: terrace on the park..
Omg. I can't believe they asked that. When I went there, I met w/the BM & he was great. Showed me the room's where the cocktail hour will be, then took me upstairs
to the reception room. If asked me about my ethnicity I'd be pissed off too.

yes, that was ahy he asked. But just because FH is from Argentina (who are BIG on BEEF) means we want 'lots of beef' as BH said. FOr all he knew, we could be vegeterians, we're not, but you never know. I am a mix (mostly German), and when I said that he said 'Oh we'll want brats and stuffed cabbage' Personally, I don't like brats. But it's a good question to ask...when planning the menu out.

No need to be sorry, I was slightly offended when he asked, I was thinking to myself 'What the F*** do you need to know that for?!?!'

That makes sense now. They never asked that when we met with them. But I guess they would like to have the food reflect someone's nationality.

Re: terrace on the park..
we checked it out when we first started looking @ places. it was pretty but i would only recommend it for smaller weddings. we ate there after the tour and stuff and the food was not the greatest which was not what we were expecting since we heard good things! I think it is nice but also a little over prices for the location!Welcome New Vendors
