Terrible Things FH Learned from FMIL!!!

FH and I went to lunch today and I told him the things I would like to kill his mother for teaching him...

Here they are:

(1) To just 'sleep it off' when he feels sick, not to take medicine. (Now I get to listen to him moan about how he is dying while he refuses to do anything about it)

(2) To fold his socks rather than roll them into a ball (OK, this one does show my anal retentive side, but it really also makes the drawer a mess!!!)

AND THE WORST!!!

(3) To blow his nose in the shower to remove all pollen, allergy inducing microbes, etc. (SOOOOOOO GROSS....and the sound that accompanies this....truly disgusting!!!)

Come on girls, I know everyone has some of these....!!!!

It isn't what is FMIL said to him it is how she treats him. Don't get me wrong I love my FMIL--I couldn't have asked for a better one she is fabulous but she is a woman surrounded by all men--my FI has 1 brother. She does everything for them. She does the laundry--folds it and puts it away. Makes my FIs bed and cleans the house constantly. Some of the habits my FI has acquired over the years includes not cleaning up after himself. He will make a sandwich and leave crumbs all over the place--he expects there to be a fairy going around with him cleaning up after him--he is in for a real surprise. Anyway that is my biggest problem. My FI will learn fast though he is moving into our apartment by himself on wed--the fun for him will begin where he learns what it is like to live by himself.

Oh no!

You need to nip that one in the bud right away!

FH cleans everything at our place...I am the messy one...that is a good thing he learned from FMIL....she is super anal about cleaning!!!

Good atleast my fh isnt the only one to do that in the shower. I think its the most disgusting thing and when he does it you can hear it in the other room and it just makes me want to gag!!!!

My MIL did EVERYTHING for my DH so now I've had to get him out of that habit and he actually is doing pretty good. He makes dinner a couple of nights a week and helps with the cleaning. A year ago I couldn't even get him off the couch!

The implication was that there are lots of germs in a bathroom because this is a room where there are no holds barred.

my fh won't put his face anywhere near the hotel room blankets. LOL i guess it's not THAT bad, but I can just hear FMIL talking every time he says, 'don't let it touch your face . . .'

I love my MIL to death, she is the best, but my DH was her baby and she did everything for him. we've been married almost 2 years and he still leaves his laundry on the floor, leaves glasses everywhere, doesnt hang up his coat, and countless other things. I usually hide things from him when I find them on the floor, he is slowllllly starting to learn though

He freaks out if I try a hat on in a store and tells me I am going to get lice....

I totally agree... he says it is normal.. i can't stand it!!

Your FMIL sounds a lot like mine. She is a wonderful woman, but my FH is going to have a very hard time when he moves out of her house and in with me. I'm not going to baby him and wait on him hand and foot like she has for the past 26 years.

Yeah my FMIL in anal about cleaning too--she vacuums everyday and is always cleaning but for some reason my FI wasn't paying attention--I just hope for the next 3 months he learns a little bit about being on his own.
