I am having a bad experience with Tessa. She is not returning my emails. We started to correspond and then NOTHING. It's been about 2 weeks. Is that normal? thanks!! PS-i checked my spam folder too!

Re: TESSA - bad experience
she is a little backed up right now and i know it takes her longer to respond. her processs is lengthy but she seems to always pull through.
try emailing her again and put what it is in regards to in the subject line.

I actually have the same date as you for my wedding, and I think we're just on the back burner for dates that are sooner...I'm sure she'll get to us!

Re: TESSA - bad experience
there are a ton of great invitation vendors besides the ones that 'everyone' uses on here...you'll find someone who can give you the attention that you need, you have plenty of time!

My invitations went out last week. I would recommend a different vendor for more personal service.

Re: TESSA - bad experience
i just posted my last proof from tessa, but it took her over a month to get it to me. So I am having he same experience. I started looking for other vendors, but it just so happens I really like her latest design for me. The process has been a waiting game for sure, and very annoying. However I am in no rush so it hasn't caused any upset in our plans.

From time to time I've heard this too and what I would say is, keep in mind how much time you have until your wedding. I know it's hard to do when you are excited to have everything right away and you are in planning mode. But I waited on Tessa's list too and it wasn't fun - but once the process started, she was lovely to deal with and my invitations were LOVED by everyone we invited. Seriously received about 40 calls/texts etc about how they were the most beautiful invites they'd ever seen. In my opinion, you need to be patient with Tessa. She's popular and her work is truly beautiful, and hand made. Plus, you're helping a small business person. (I like that idea rather than go through some big invitation place). If you have the time, it is WELL worth the wait. If that's not your style and you want a more organized situation and you want things faster, there are plenty of places that do great work. Totally your choice and what you are comfortable with. Good luck!

I am having the same experience. I have not heard from her in about a month. I am about to place an order elsewhere. I can't risk not having invitations. I am surprised because she came hightly recommended. I am guessing that she has taken on too many jobs and is not able to take care of all of them.

I couldnt agree more. I just got my invites on Friday and I was speechless at what a gorgeous job she did! I know I had seen my proof but once I got all the invites and the envelopes she did such a gorgeous meticulous and job! I know its hard because you want everything to come quickly, but like someone else said shes SUPER busy with all the summer weddings and is truly backed up. If you give her a chance you wont be sorry or disapointed.
And something else I see that I cant understand is why people feel its not personal service she provides. Is it because your not in person when your speak to her? Or that you dont have to talk to her on the phone? I ask because I felt my experience with her was COMPLETELY PERSONAL even though it was through email. I mean I had to convey to her through pictures what I Had in my head as my dream invite. And she gave me more than I could have ever dreamed of!
So Im sorry to anyone who has had a bad experience with her, but there are hundreds on top of hundreds who have had wonderful experiences with her. Its hard you cant please everyone.

It is normal not to hear from her. You have a really long time till your wedding and she won't contact you again until she has a proof for you of the designs.
I didn't go with her for my own reasons as well. But she does beautiful work if you can stick it out. Check out Judi from A Bridal Papiere, she's terrific and everything is custom.

Re: TESSA - bad experience
I just got the email that mine are complete this morning. The waiting s*cked, but totally worth it.
Once she started my invites, it only took like 3 days to actually create them.
She has been super busy lately because she was behind by a day or 2 due to printers crapping out on her, and signing a contract for a new house.
Cut her some slack - she is really terrific at what she does. You have plenty of time. Wait your turn, and she'll get them done when she promises. (She writes a time range on the contract and she sticks to it!!)
AND you won't find a better price!!! I'm getting pocketfold invites with 3 inserts and it's only costing me less than $700!! That's even cheaper than getting a lesser quality invite and doing all the assembly myself from an actual store on LI.

It stinkls that she has not gotten back to you, but I would say that it looks like she is reliable.
As long as you are ok with waiting, It will be ok :)

ITA....You have MORE than enough time to start worrying about your invites. I'd definitely let it go for now and wait a little longer.

Re: TESSA - bad experience
I was less than thrilled with my experience with her for my STD's. I ended up using a different invitation vendor for my actual invites.
