How many times did you go back and forth with her? I have NO idea what I need to change on my mock invites- I am still thinking... I don't even know where to start!

They aren't 'right' yet...

The problem is I can't even say I have a real wedding theme... it's not her fault, it's mine.

Input please...

I she showed me two, I didnt like the flourishes, I went onto a website that sells them, chose one I liked and she fixed it right away.

Yea, I am having trouble even figuring out what i want to change, but I know it's not right yet. They are sort of boring I think- which is making me nervous about my colors to be honest.

I think we went back and forth on the design process like 7 times .. i felt really bad, but it looks great now and the proof is amazing... And I just have to fix a couple of tiny things now...

eta: Tell her that you feel its too boring.. she will come up with something more.. she is so creative!

you still have A LOT of time before you need to finalize your invites - its good that you are doing them early, but you dont want to jump the gun with them either - you are doing them 1 year in advance which is really ahead, im just trying to say nicely that if you arent sure exactly what you want yet you might be wasting your time and tessa's by going back and forth with the samples - b/c by next year you might want something different...do you know what i mean? i think its good to have an idea and a quote so you know how much what you like is going to cost you but to actually be customizng them now is a little early IMO - maybe take a break from it? you never know what you might see closer to your wedding - i think i started emailing with Tessa in April and finalized in July....we had to tweak some things after my rhinestone slides came in - so its been a work in process....if i would have started last year i would have went nuts by now

ITA - i would wait until you have a definite idea of what you want..

Re: Tessa Invites- HELP!

I totally get what you girls are saying... I did mention this to her at first but she said she could not give me a quote until we started the process...

However, when I say I am confused it is more because I wasn't really planning on creating a theme for my wedding. (other than the ladybugs for my mom) I know the colors I want and I know I want it to be simple. I am a very simple girl.

It's hard to get a true vision when I don't have a style- vintage- contemporary- heart theme- beach theme.

Does that make more sense? Thanks for all of your thoughts...

I feel like we've seen so many Tessa invites lately that I've forgotten if you've shown yours. Did you show us?

Re: Tessa Invites- HELP!

I will post them now...

So far I think I would like to combine the two flourishes somehow...

I am trying to think about this stuff now since as of a week from Wednesday my brain drain begins! (second graders will do that lol!)

Re: Tessa Invites- HELP!

i understand the no theme thing - we dont really have a theme either - i mean we do - but our reception is going to be totally different than the rest of the wedding...for example the ceremony and CH i wanted more of an elegant christmas vibe - my bridesmaids are wearing a simple taupey/gold dress with a silver brooch, all of our flowers will be deep burgundy - the lobby of the hall is decorated for christmas in golds - the fireplaces are on, there are christmas trees - just very elegant christmas style - and then the ceremony is going to be dark and romantic - dim lights, red flowers again, candle lit aisle - CH i think the hall puts pointsettas out on the tables and our string trio will be playing christmas music.....then our reception is the total opposite - more of a winter wonderland, still simple and elegant but totally different than 'christmas' - instead there will be blue uplighting, white branches with hanging votives and crystals, white roses - so a drastic change - we wanted the party to feel like a party KWIM? so we dont really have a central theme going on......so i based my invite off my bridesmaid dress it matches the tone of the beginning of the wedding - that old world christmas - golds/taupe i did a rhinestone buckle....but it took awhile to figure out what to come up with since like you said there is no set theme

Your wedding is going to be beautiful... I have no doubt about that. If for nothing more than you being part of it...

You have great ideas. It's so much easier for me to know what I don't want rather than what I do! I have always been like that with boyfriends too!

aww thanks - i hope i get my make up right thats my biggest stressor right now! i found someone to do it, im just so freaking indecisive on what type of make up i want!

but dont worry mrs z you and tessa will figure it out.....i happen to like both of the pics you posted....just remember that the invites always look so much nicer in person - they can be a little boring in those screen shots but when she puts them togetether for real they are always so nice!

I absolutely love the second one. Its hard to imagine it in person when you see the mock up but once she sends you the real one you really get that 'wow' factor

yep that is exactly what i mean - when i saw my samples i was like wow! on her site she has an old mock up of mine - i dont know why - i have a pic of the new one in my album - but the invite is actually going to be a little different b/c of the rhinestone slide we are using, they just arrived this week - and the ribbon is going to be a tad wider - i cant wait to see them! she showed me a mock up but the ribbon was green! so it looked silly - but i can tell i will love them when she gets the right color ribbon!

so dont worry - you dont want anything to crazy on the mock up b/c they really have much more of the 'wow' factor when you see the actual sample - especially because of the paper and textures

I've gone back and forth with Tessa about six times for different things that just weren't right. she was great about it. I def. like you're second one better, but if you're not sure take your time and think on it all as long as you need until you find something inspiring. and i don't have any kind of theme either - just colors - It'll all work out!

I went back and forth with Tessa a countless number of times. I told her something completely different at first, and when I saw the mock up I completely changed my mind. Then she made me a whole new invitation, and I changed that so many times....and now we are at the final stages and I LOVE IT!!!! She is so nice and patient so keep working with her and do your best to tell her your ideas and I am sure you will get something you love in the end.
